Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Beds were vptetty hard, not always hot water and a soft couch. But it would not stop me from returning here.
Great location, spacious rooms, fairly quiet being in the city centre.

It might be better to have a coffee machine which it is easier to buy capsules for - we bought the wrong ones! Or a cafetière?
The location is fabulous. It’s quiet and away from the traffic and a short walk to everything you will want to see. The apartment itself is comfortable and clean with two single and one double bed and two bathrooms.

If you don't like stairs, this might be a challenge. If you're fit and able, no real problem.
Great location. All the facilities you need. Comfortable, great experience of living in Rome.

The apartment is nothing like the pictures . When I asked about this he replied that the pictures are for the big apartment and not for the one we ordered for 2 people . The apartment furniture ( lounge and kitchen are old with no balcony . Nothing like in the pictures . Very disappointing .

Would have preferred change of towels every couple of days as property didn’t have a washing machine.

The apartment is very neglected, furniture falling apart, there were almost no dishes to cook with. The television does not have smartTV. The apartment is not worth the asking price

Coffee maker was dodgy, didn't always work.
This was an amazing location and a wonderful apartment on the top floor. It was charming and comfortable. It has nice views and a great patio to sit out on and enjoy a glass of wine with friends. Highly recommend!

Nothing except maybe the low pressure of water of shower
The location is right in the heart of Rome. A charming under roof apartment. The staff is excellent: we asked for a minor lighting issue and they responded swiftly with a total discretion. The welcome by Kenzie is so friendly.

I would say it is not a new unit as we can find some of the item are really old.
Perfect location if you want to shop around. Near to trevi fountain and the pantheon. Spacious house with cold air conditioning

1. Stairs in the apartment .. was a bit difficult for the adults of us.. but we managed.. 2. Shampoos salons wete a bit poor, better to bring urs with u.
Location location location... It made all the difference... Staff was outstanding ! Big terrace and another two balconies ! Perfect for a big group... The Location made the trip extraordinary .... We were in the center of the heart of Rome... we didn't need to get out of the area ... Close to Shopping restaurants cafes music bars and all the attractions.. Beds are so comfortable ... I think the location of the apartment made our stay extraordinary!

Stairs inside the apartment
Location is perfect! Staff are very kind, helping and comfortable to contact We were 9 people, flight was delayed for 11 hours, the owner let us stay at one of the apartment till needed ..it was a great solution for an annoying problem for ten people. He was super generous and didn't hesitate to help. Our stay and the helpful staff and generous owner adding to the perfect location made our stay super !

The apartment is obviously older. There was only a sheet on one of the beds, a comforter or more bedding would have been nice.
The locations was perfect. It was in the center of Rome with lots of retails shops, restaurants and bars. It was a short walk to the Spanish steps. The terrace was so large and very pretty.

The through-bedroom could use somewhere to hang things and one of the single beds could use a new mattress
Good location, facilitated late check in, lovely old style apartment with beautiful furnishings and plenty space, storage and all you need for a comfortable stay. We were overall very pleased with Gambero Apartments.

There were birds nesting right outside the bedroom window, they were making unbearable noise all night, we had trouble sleeping.
The location is great, in the heart of a very good and beautiful neighborhood, with supermarket and coffee shops near by, but in a quiet street without any traffic noise in the apartment. The apartment is spacious and clean. more than enough for a couple.

Down side, shower water pressure was not great but always had fast hot water. Low ceilings made us crouch alot when walking around.
Location was amazing! Our late check-in was accommodated and car service was even arranged for us at the airport.

No heating on first day of arrival but was resolved quickly. Toilet seat not in greatest condition. Cleaner cutlery.
Terrific location and communication. Beds were comfortable also. Good WiFi available.

A lovely historic building in a wonderful location, all the modern facilities, close to landmarks, essential shopping with a welcome lift! There were very comfortable beds and exceptionally clean.

the location is great . the property has elevator to go to the higher floors. thousand there are a flight of steps that need to be climbed before reaching
