Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandThe location was amazing, right on the port with a gorgeous view of the sea. Away from all the hustle and bustle of the main thoroughfare, we loved the peaceful evenings here. The staff were excellent. Our room with balcony was large and the shower was amazing!

United KingdomBreakfast choices were very poor. The only fruit/veg were tomatoes and strawberries. Occasional apples. Once they ran out they weren’t replenished for that day’s breakfast. The eggs, scrambled or boiled were dry and blue. No tea/coffee making facilities.
Excellent location, fabulous view, lovely staff.

Australia- There was a problem with our room key not working, which happens in hotels, but a solution was not managed well and I believe more training for the staff is required. The solution took a long time and required us to go up and down the lift 4 times, trying different solutions with the check in person. Finally he gave us a master card to loan temporarily, which worked for us but i think is a security risk - what if other guests were given a master card? We stayed for 3 nights and finally on the last night only was it resolved. - no fridge, and room is a bit on the smaller side but manageable - The location requires you to climb down a very very long stairs to get to it. i would say between 5 to 8 stories high, which is difficult with luggage or if you're older than 50. The main area for attractions or for pick up for tours is up the stairs. The location may suit you well if you're young and fit or you're using the ferries for self guided tours to capri or amalfi so you don't have to climb down the stairs to the ferry.
- The view in room and at the rooftop bar is magnificent, can see vesuvius and the sea. - hotel breakfast is generous (get the bacon) - hotel breakfast had the best coffee I had in Italy. - Friday night a lovely saxophone player could be heard if we opened the windows from the rooftop bar - close to ferry port and for a walk on the beach (black dirt sand beach). Would be great if you plan to catch ferries independently - Clean (although some parts of the room do show signs of age) and nice blue nautical theme decor. - beautiful painted tile decor , marble floors in lobby... just pretty and quaint. - friendly staff, speak English

Ireland129 steps to get to street level, no fridge, price of drink in their roof top bar for a 3 star? €170 for a taxi transfer?
Great view of the port, very good breakfast, some of the staff were very pleasant. Room was clean.

United KingdomThe room we were in was poor. Air con unit did not work, the toilet was a bit iffy, the TV was unusable, the shower was tiny, the bed was a bit solid. But overall who cares? You pay to go on holiday to stay out the bedroom 😁 But still rate this hotel 9/10 for what you get outside the bedroom dragging the score upwards. Highly recommend.
The staff and public area. The upstairs bar, pool and view are worthy of a 4 star hotel! Lush. The staff are amamzing. Very helpful. Breakfast was looked gorgeous (I was on a diet so just strawberries and coffee for me). The team that do the room service were exception too. The service this hotel provides is worth much more than the three star rating and price you pay. Bargain.

United States of AmericaNo real complaints. My only suggestions: make it so the refrigerator stays on when the room is not occupied. It really makes no sense for that to turn off - ever - otherwise whatever is stored there goes bad (I had meds that needed refrigeration) They did accommodate me, so that’s a plus! The only other thing - the mirror in the bathroom was pretty high. Again, not a real complaint only a small nuisance.
This was a lovely, updated older hotel. The mix of modern and old style was pleasing. It was very clean and the staff was wonderful. (Mosharraf was great with breakfast!) The rooms were large and comfortable.

AustraliaThe location while close to the ferry terminal, is about 12 flights of stairs down from the main area of town. Any time you want to go into town for lunch, dinner, or shopping, you had to do the stairs. The alternative, was a 1.5Euro per head elevator ride each way? Oh and the taxi back to the railway.... a 5 minute ride at best was almost 20Euro, but that is not controlled by the hotel, but is worth mentioning
The view from our hotel room was good. Across the bay to Capri and Mt Vesuvius. It is a great location for catching the ferry to either Capri or to Amalfi or Positano (provided the ferries are running)
