Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The shower cubicle was very small and the radiator was permanently on making it very hot. Air con was not in operation at this time of year (a fan was provided which helped).
Staff were extremely helpful and friendly.we were given advice on places to try for dinner. They also helped with information about strikes affecting transport. Comfortable bed. Great location. Breakfast was very nice.

The room was on the top floor which led to very high temperature, it was too hot. Also we could not open the window as there was no net to prevent mosquitoes to enter or anything. For some people the fact that there are so many stairs might represent a problem.
Clean and enough space for staying a couple of days. Heat was on and it was comfortable. The reception staff was very kind and helpful, specially lady Monika which is a wonderful person.

The bathroom was very small and squishy and the room was very warm.

A lot depends on your expectations, so we didn’t have any:) And then what we found: a red carpet on your entry, a beautiful apartment with windows to canal, a beautiful serenades each morning from gondolas, the sun and a little breeze when you open a window and nice people smiling at you from a little bridge; at nights you can feel soft waves of water when very silently passes the boat (but really not disturbing, instead lifting the spirit 🥰); we also experienced how clean can be the room and towels changed every day without even asking or nicely surprising about shampoos filled every day 🤗 we experienced how tasty a food can be (for international guests it might be important to have more than croissants for the breakfast, so there you can find plenty of choices and hot meals changed each morning; we also met a very fun and smiling waiter well taking care of customers and making sure tables and clean and you feel comfortable. And here is our top - we were lucky to meet wonderful Matias🌹 and one more man who helped with the night leave of my daughter 🙏 So by summing up it all - you will receive a very generous and warm attention and smiles from people doing their job with joy and happiness ❤️ and this is the fruits of a person who stands behind it all - Thank you to the owner of the hotel - and Thank you everyone in front for a wonderful experience of our family and one special Thank you to you, Matias ☀️

This is personal but I don’t like wool blankets and would have preferred duvets/bed covers. Common areas look worn out. Air conditioning in the room is basic- was not a problem for me given the season but it would probably be too warm in the summer.
Excellent location for visiting the city. Beds are quite good and rooms are good for this category hotel. Young man at the reception was very kind. Good pressure and temperature in the shower. Very clean in the rooms and good housekeeping.

You have to be willing to climb stairs. The location was initially difficult to find, but once we found it it was very good.
The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The hotel was very clean.

I liked everything! It is just good to know that there is a stair in the entrance that you cannot avoid .
The location was perfect and the hotel was very very clean ! The personnel is extraordinary, everyone was very polite extremely helpful and always with a smile! And this was true for all of them! The breakfast was amazing. The location was perfect, nothing out of the interesting things in the old city was more than 12 minutes far. , plus that it is inside the canal! Best hotel experience I have had in a sensible price !

The room was quite small, didn't match the pictures really. Cleaners worked very early in morning so woke us up as the walls are quite thin. So don't expect the best sleep.
The location was very good, walk to everywhere. The staff were very helpful- gave recommendations when asked. It was clean.
