Showers had bad water pressure/low temperature. It was a hostel, so how nice your room stay is very contingent on your roommates.

The location was great, and the woman checking me in was very nice and clear with instructions. The price was fantastic

The beds were not very good and also the equipment can be improved or renovated. For the cost it was okay (traveling end of April). Also, it has only three bathrooms so for a long stay I do not know if it is enough.

It is a very central place. I was an alone traveller so I had a room with three other people. It was spacious and clean. No need for bus, cabs or anything. Not too expensive.

At first the lady at the reception was very kind, even though she didn't speak English she tried to be extremely helpful. I wanted to turn on the air conditioner because it was very cold, but he said "it is a central system and it will turn on the air conditioner itself." And so I went out for a walk. When I arrived in the evening, the room was freezing and I was very cold. I called the lady but I could not reach her in any way. The air conditioner definitely did not work. 😣 I thought about making tea to warm up, but there isn't even a kettle! Everywhere was clean and tidy, but I tried to sleep like a mummy in the freezing cold room, wearing whatever I had on until the morning. I woke up at eight in the morning to a huge renovation noise. In our country, these things are done around noon so as not to disturb people, I think it's a great disrespect! ☺️ In the morning, the air conditioner started working on its own and I slept soundly the next day. I asked the interested boyfriend not to turn off the air conditioner, because the room cools down immediately. Thank you very much for not closing, I had a good 2 nights. 🙏🏻☺️ But I couldn't take a shower because there was no hair dryer.. 😣

The location is very central, you can walk everywhere, which is great. But be prepared as there is no market nearby. You can walk to the bus or train station in 20 minutes

There is a serious need for new linen and towels - it was clean, but old. There weren’t any outlets near my bed.

"Private room" it´s a big room divided with some cupboard, you could hear everyting from others "rooms" Staff entring to the rooms without knocking. They don¨t provide anything, not even hot water to make yourself a tea. No comon area

I just criticize one of the drawbacks of the place. Regrettably the pressure of water for having a shower was very low.

They offer nothing. The kitchen is closed, and they removed the microwave and there's no fridge. Basically you can't keep any food at the premise which affects the overall cost of your stay as you need to buy everything from the restaurants nearby.

The bathroom could have been kept cleaner at night, but it's a rather minor detail and concerns the guests more than the staff. It would have also been great if it were possible to leave luggage in the reception before check-in or after check-out, but it was not too big of a problem as there is a left luggage facility around the corner from the hostel.

I had a pleasant stay at Il Castello. The location was superb as it was a two-minute walk from the Piazza Maggiore and close to shops, restaurants, and all major attractions of the city. The bed in the shared room was comfortable, although it would be appreciated if there were shelves by the bed to put your personal items. There wasn't any personal lockers so I had to leave my stuff out in the open. On the other hand, the air conditioning was much appreciated during the sultry summer nights of Bologna. Furthermore, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Overall, it was a good value hostel stay.

Unfortunately, there were no towels provided. The reception works only to 7 p.m., it's inconvenient. And the worst thing is bedbugs...

Very clean room, only 3 beds in the room it's really cozy and cool. Toilets are also clean, there is a bidet! It is very quite there and the place is really convenient. There are restaurants, shops, supermarkets nearby the hostel.

Staff was not welcoming at all - we arrived at specific agreed time and were told to wait for 30 minutes on the street because there was "another check-in" at that time.. and I only wanted to leave my bag. It looks like the hostel doesn't encourage socialising, there is a lack of common areas.. kitchen is "only for staf".. overall the hostel feels like a hospital a bit.. too white and boring
