Study well the way in to the property and parking options.it would be for all Sassi accommodations the same recommendations. I would use taxi or luggage portier. Have in mind that there is a noise of aircon system in upper rooms which is a minore disturbance. Overall its an amazing travel-in-time like movie experience.

Exceptional restored original Matera cave with modern Italian interior design. All rooms r uniquely designed, some even with jacuzzi Family run property offers all imaginable services. We did a homemade pasta in-house course with kids - can only recommend.

Nothing, what’s not to like? The rooms were excellent, the food was some of the best I have ever eaten. The location was stunning. The owners did everything possible to make our trip worth remembering.

This stay was one of the best in all my travels. I was treated like family and they went above beyond in their treatment. I cannot say enough about this magical place. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Worth every euro.

- When using the fan in the bathroom there is the fan motor inside the room which made the room a bit hot.

- Lovely room in the rock of Matera which is a very unique experience - The room was big, clean and had everything we needed. - The courtyard of the hotel is nice and quiet and very relaxing - Breakfast was simple but tasty.

Great location for exploring Matera! Wonderful setting and courtyard areas for eating, reading and chilling. Room 14 sleeps 4, including 1 spacious room with 3 beds (double and single) and 1 single bedroom with its own en-suite. Very friendly staff. Would certainly stay here again!

Interesting setting and the room came with some information about the family who had lived there, which was really interesting. The reception staff were great, gave us a map with things to see and places to go as well as restaurant recommendations. I am vegan and they catered for that at breakfast, which we have not found yet in southern Italy.

Absolutely awesome stay. The owner was kind and so helpful and helped organise porters for our luggage we would never have been able to carry our bags with all those steps! The room was fantastic, so awesome to be in a cave, a very unique experience. The beds were comfortable and warm, the bathroom was clean and functional. Breakfast was beautiful with an array of homemade items. The location and views from the room were brilliant. A fantastic stay and made our time in Matera memorable.

Absolutely amazing stay here! Lovely experience staying in a cave room on the top level, which was very large and very clean. Perfect location, a bit of a walk from the centre, but you get an amazing view right at the doorstep. Good breakfast buffet, though it is a continental breakfast style without cooked options. Overall my experience was amazing and I would stay here again!

Just wow. The room was beautifully appointed, the little cave at the back was amazing (kids loved it) and the whole experience was wonderful. Also, we last minute realised we had to get help getting our bags to the hotel and this was arranged with little hassle (they do prefer you to give 24hrs notice, so I'm not saying be as disorganized as us).

Nothing at all. Our room was huge and comfortable but maybe a Nespresso machine in the room but that is just being picky. It is a standard in most hotels especially suites.

It was a bit difficult to find initially. Clearer instructions on where to park and how to best find the hotel would have been helpful.

The “cave” was comfortable with ample space for my family. Breakfast was good. Staff was cordial.
