Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Our room was very noisy from the little lane outside which had lovely restaurants. Unfortunately this meant alot of chatting and noise late into the night

Bedroom decorations were a bit far on the shabby side of chic, although this doesn’t affect us too much it reduces value for money. Water in room on arrival was not replenished.
Great location, excellent service, good and generous breakfast. Room was very quiet at night for good sleep.

Breakfast was simple but good. Room a bit small, but as far as I could see, Venice is a very expensive city with little space.
Very well located, the hotel had a great staff and was very nice to stay. Super close to San Marco Square.

Size of room -would upgrade a level next time if available but would also return even if not available
Great little boutique hotel. Location is very close to San Marco sights. Walked everywhere. Very nice included breakfast and afternoon tea & priced reasonably. Room was very small which is true for most small European hotels. Front desk was very responsive & helpful arranging transport from airline and to cruise.

Rooms need a bit of attention.
Location was excellent, 5 minutes from st mark's square. Staff were lovely. Beds were comfortable. Complimentary afternoon tea if desired which unfortunately we didn't have time for.

If I had a criticism it would be there are busy times at breakfast where there does not seem to be enough plates, cups etc. A wait for certain foods to be replenished.
The location was excellent was excellent, good links. Our apartment was superb with lots of space with a good breakfast paid for extra. The staff were excellent & polite

The hotel is located in a central location close to the main tourist sites. The hotel staff at the reception were quite helpful. Breakfast was good. Room was clean.

Great hotel located in the bustling San Marco area. We had a small room on the 4th floor, but it was beautifully decorated with very comfortable beds. Good breakfast selection and nice addition of cookies and tea in the afternoon. The staff were always smiling and friendly. We asked about a tour of Murano glass blowing and they provided a wonderful free tour with great hosts.

The bed was a bit too firm...but that is the only slight negative. Linens were clean and crisp and plenty of towels.
Wonderful hotel right off the Piazza San Marco. The staff were lovely and eager to help, the breakfast was amazing with fruit, cakes, juices, all sorts of breads and terrific croissants and cereals....it was also a rather long breakfast 7-10+ I believe so no rush. Then of course time for tea in the afternoon with tea, coffee, cakes and cookies. And every morning there is a free boat out to the islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello. All in all Outstanding.

The street outside is very busy from about 930am so bring earplugs if you need a lie in. We also got covered in a few bug bites, so bring repellent/antiseptic cream.
The breakfast and tea service were excellent although one of our party were vegan, they did have non-dairy milk available. The room was clean although you could tell it hadn't been updated in some time eg wallpaper peeling and a hole headboard but the traditional Venetian decor made up for it. The staff were so lovely, they made the experience very positive and welcoming. The hotel is so close to San Marco square that it is so easy to get around everywhere if you're on a short trip like us.

We were on very top floor 4th not sure if smells worked there way upwards but can't really fault the hotel it's the drainage system in Venice on a whole but rest of hotel facilities made up for it .
Breakfast and lovely afternoon tea rooms spotless and beds comfortable and really close to St marks square
