Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

TurkeyWe travelled with 8 people group. The facility have new modern large flats and old small flats; despite we paid the same price with our friends, we got the small rooms. When I asked to the owner, he said it’s their luck and they can’t get us into the new rooms because they are also reserved. Also despite Salerno is an touristic town, the lady at the reception does not know English. We spoke to her English, she answers in Italian. Really annoying. The building was bit creepy and old. Breakfast was not enough.
Perfect location, near the terminal and main street.

United States of AmericaLocation, cleanliness, seemed like-new.
Perfect location, we arrived by ferry from the Amalfi Coast and took the train the next day. Less than 5 minute walk from both the port and train station. When we arrived, we were greeted in front of the building and shown our apartment. It was clean, spacious and just what we needed. I recommend and would definitely stay again.

RomaniaI think they didn't check again before giving us the keys to the room because there was a used towel in the shower and someone else's hair under the bed covers. The first day we arrived the bed sheets looked like they were used. But this wasn't the main problem... In the room everyday there was a constant smell of urine. We left room windows opened, the bathroom window was never closed, the bathroom door opened(In bathroom there wasn't any foul smells, all very clean in there) but after we returned in the evening the smell was in the room over and over. Don't know from where it came, but it was unpleasant. I can't imagine the manager or the one that cleaned every day after we left, didn't smelled what was in our room.
It was comfortable. Someone cleaned every day. New fresh towels every day. The breakfast was diverse enough. It was close to the train station and the harbour. The AC worked ok.

GermanyFirst, our mattress was quite old that it was dipping in the center. It was quite uncomfortable. Second, the noise level was just not conducive for sleep. There is no soundproofing for outside and inside noise. So apart from TV noises from the room next door, I was also awakened very early by street traffic and rail noise. Third, the our shower closet had a bit of mold. Lastly, getting to the property would have been easier had “how to get there” instructions were given beforehand. The building itself was easy to find but the actual unit in a massive complex was a bit tricky (also since the doorman did not speak English). I was really looking forward to staying here due to the high reviews, so my experience was a bit unfortunate.
The location of the property was great. Near the train station, the ferry port, and was by the shopping street. The staff, especially Mr. Eliseo, was very friendly. There was also unlimited coffee, tea, juice, and biscuits that we very much enjoyed.

IsraelThe entrance of the hotel, through a number of doors and lifts that make it very difficult to find the hotel, that has no obvious sign. Worse than that was the room that did not resemble at all the pictures and which had an electronic toilet, that you see only in airplanes. Flushing the toilet was therefore accompanied with a loud noise-which from time to time made these 'barking' noises also regardless to the toilet flushing
The only good thing about this hotel is its central location. The breakfast was also OK

The B&B is about 10 minutes walk from the train station. The staffs were all very nice and the room we had was clean and large enough for us. Breakfast is just with a cafe next door with lot of pastries and coffee selection. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely return if we are in Salerno.

SpainThe doorman was a bit unfriendly and maybe a bit tired to explain to each tourist on which floor they should go...
The location of this property is TOP - close to the bus/train station, promenade and main shopping street. The owner sent me a text message to be sure I am able to find the place (because no signage on the street and the building is big with a lot of flats and offices). My room was ready at 10 AM, which was great because I just left my suitcase and had the entire day to walk and discover the city. The breakfast is served in a small coffee place, close to the hotel. The breakfast is a normal one, you can order hot/cold drinks and some sweets. My room has a view over the train station, but even that was not noisy. The room is modern, big and the shower was amazing! Everything was clean and well organized. There is a common area with a coffee machine, books, etc. I like it a lot and recommend this place to other visitors.
