Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The staff were outstanding. Helped with our luggage both in and out. Helped with getting us taxi service. The breakfast was very good The beds were very comfortable. Great deal for basic lodging.

We enjoyed a comfortable stay at Hotel Trasvetere. The staff was very friendly and helpful, esp the new owner who spent time moving some of our travel logistics. The rooms are clean and breakfast lovely, esp the cappuccinos.

Would have liked Kettle in room to make tea.
We stayed here 1 night before our flight. Older hotel. Good size room. Comfortable bed. Bathroom on smaller size, but had all the amenities. Window overlooked the park, so was noisy late into the night. It was a Friday. Breakfast was great. Choice of cereal, hard boiled eggs, sliced meat and cheese, buns pastries, yoghurt and juices. Best we had in Italy.

Nothing.
The staff were always extremely helpful and accommodating, helping us get taxis and always interested in that we had everything we needed. The breakfast included cappuccino, cereals, different variety of croissants, yogurt, juices, and hard-boiled eggs. The location was close to a number of restaurants and sites in Trastevere and near the Tiber, fun for a boat ride. We traveled with young children, and the staff were exceptionally kind to them.

Our room bathroom needs a little work; the bath tub needs either full curtains or full glass doors to prevent leaking water out; the bathroom floor was full of water every time the shower was used.
Great location in Trastevere; friendly staff, great service and super clean.

The bathroom could have been a bit larger. Though I’m not fat, in the standard room I had trouble gettin out of the shower :(
First time I stayed in Trastevere, very lovely area. The breakfast was adequate for us and personnel were very nice.

The only thing I can say is that my room was facing the alley in the back which was a big hangout spot at night. So it sometimes got a little loud but I’m a heavy sleeper so it didn’t bother me as much.
I loved this hotel & loved my stay. During the day it was nice and quiet but it comes alive in the night time. Near a bunch of restaurants that are in walking distance and public transportation. The cafe in the property served breakfast and I really enjoyed the chocolate croissants. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. As a plus size girly it is plus size friendly. The shower however was a little small but we make do. I was really skeptical about booking anything other than a regular hotel chain like “double tree, Hilton hotel” for example but I was very happy with my stay. The STAFF WAS AMAZING. Amundus & Elena were very welcoming and made me and my mom feel safe. I would definitely recommend.

Great location in walkable distance from many of the main attractions in Rome as well as many nice restaurants in the neighbourhood. The hotel team was exceptionally warm and friendly. THe breakfast and fresh coffee were delicious.

One night of our stay there was a group of teenagers outside of our window, being very loud. When we complained to the front desk we didn’t get a helpful response.
The staff was very knowledgeable & helpful Breakfast offered a great variety of food Location was fantastic!

Nothing! Initially thought noise would be a problem - but discovered how amazing the quality of the windows is - nothing to complain about at all :-)
Super friendly welcome and we arrived early but our room was ready so were able to check in. Location great - very close to some excellent restaurants, gelaterias and lovely squares (like a lot of Rome) but really easy to walk towards the central part as well as get to the main station to get to and from the airport. Super clean room, lots of towels, good storage and no difficulty accessing the hotel at all hours as they have night staff. Rome is a noisy city but the windows are triple glazed and kept out the noise brilliantly. Breakfast - we normally don't have this at a hotel but it was included and was deceptively plentiful. A great range of different croissants, yogurts, fruit, rolls, cheese, ham, juice and coffee. The serving ladies were so lovely and maternal and kind. The whole stay was very gentle and the hotel is simple, unpretentious but comfortable, clean and works well. Would happily stay there again.
