Stairs were awkward to get our cases up and there's lots of twisting and narrow stairs!! Did have a lift but absolutely tiny ,not big enough for luggage and people!!

Location was good, not far from from the main train station 15 min walk. Breakfast was very good lots of items to choose from. Rooms were comfortable and spacious, and bathroom was nice too. Staff were helpful in getting us a taxi to our cruise ship in the morning.

We had several issues while we were there. First with the air-conditioning (not ideal when it's in the high 30s outside) and then with the plug sockets in the room we moved to for a night. However, the management were deeply apologetic and bend over backwards to sort things out for us: the air-con guys were there the next morning and they gave us a cooling fan. While it was a pain, the customer service was fantastic and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for a stay in Ravenna.

This place is every bit as gorgeous as it looks in the photos. The whole place is beautifully designed and we loved our garden view room. The location was handy for everything, the garden and breakfast terrace are really nice and the breakfast was good. Best of all was the bed. I forgot to ask what brand the mattress was but it was insanely comfortable.

Water was not provided in the room. This is unforgivable in such a hot climate. When I asked for water I was told this would be 1 Euro, which I reluctantly agreed to - to put salt in the wound the water was never delivered. I spent an uncomfortable and thirsty night in my room. Not providing water, or any other drinks for that matter is unforgivable and lets this review down.

The lady who served us breakfast was amazing. So kind and helpful. It was the best gluten-free breakfast I have been offered at any establishment - great choice and quality. Beautiful surroundings. Also, upon arrival, we were greeted with courtesy and politeness. The Santa Maria Foris is a very high quality establishment and recommended.

I feel that lighting was needed in the courtyard to be able to sit out in the evening as we weren’t able to do this because it was too dark. The shower was very hard to work out and it’s took ages to get it to the right temperature.

The property was very clean the room was lovely and the bed was comfortable, very spacious. I read other reviews about the breakfast but the breakfast was lovely just what we needed before heading off to our cruise.

We arrived on a very hot day before the date in the year when the central air conditioning gets turned on. The room which faced the sun all day was very hot on arrival. The staff were very helpful and did something to try and turn on the air conditioning units in the room. Unfortunately the slightly cool air didn't achieve a lot so we spent our two days there with the windows wide open to try and cool down the room. This of course allows all the noise in from the street. Fortunately the weather cooled down which made it a bit more comfortable. I'm sure that at other times this room would be very comfortable and we were just a bit unlucky with the weather being unexpectedly hot for the time of year.

The hotel is a large beautifully restored old villa. It is very spacious and full of antique furniture. It has a lovely outside courtyard area and a number of communal areas including an old library. It is very centrally located within easy walking distance of all the major places of interest. We didn't have breakfast there but there are lots of great cafes and restaurants nearby. The deluxe room was spacious and well appointed with lots of cupboard and drawer spaces . The bed was really comfortable. We had an enormous bathroom which had everything one might need. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. If ever in Ravenna again we would definitely stay here and would recommend it to others.

Santa Maria Foris - we booked a queen room, the room was spotlessly clean. Great location in Ravenna, within walking distance to shops, restaurants and places to see. We received a free genius breakfast, which was continental and very nice, eaten on the patio. Excellent service from Emanuela and Elena at Santa Maria Foris. Emanuela booked our private transfers from the airport to the cruise port and arranged our antigen test at the local pharmacy for our cruise. Elena was very helpful on arrival and explaining all the fabulous places to visit. Definitely recommend!

Not a dislike because there was nothing to dislike - but the only thing that could improve the room even more would be to have a mirror in the bedroom rather than just one in the bathroom

We had room 15 which was lovely, well decorated with a very comfortable bed and lots of wardrobe space. Our special requests were catered for prior to our arrival and no request was too much trouble.

The hotel has been lovingly taken care of and our room was very large and comfortable. Breakfast each morning was nice with many choices of sweets, meats, cheeses and coffee. Wish the weather had been cooperative so we could have made use of the lovely outdoor space. Owner provides detailed option for pay parking lot.
