Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

No hand towels, just two shower towels. Being on the top floor means the wall (which is the shanty roof) closes over each bed, we kept bumping into it when we tried to sit up. The view is great but the window is tiny and this attic room definitely should not cost the same as the other rooms that have huge windows and straight walls.

The overall price considering also the late check-out by 50€ is too expensive. Ok Amsteram is not cheap but this is going above limits of average traveler experience.
it is perfectly positioned near the central station and near the center. The premises are clean and modern, staff is nice and the system of booking works with no issues.

They have the steepest stairs so beware if you got big or large suitcase.never mind on the first floor but upper of that those who have mobility issues, aged have to be really careful.
Location is very central.lots if restaurant,shops,transportation is within the area.very handy and walkable.

Small room but comfortable.

Annexe room was very basic and noisy at times. Had to ask several times for safe to be activated. Layout of room was poor with bed too close to the door. There were no bedside tables or shelves.
The location was very central. Hotel reception and bar were good. Our friends canal view room was beautiful.

Uneven flooring and doors that close on you. Not a lot of space in the attic room if staying as 2 people. You do get used to it tho.
Staff were helpful and well informed. Hotel has a lift to some of the rooms on the Damrak side. Hotel has a storage room for luggage in the subterranean area. Hotel has a resident cat (love!). Nice hot shower. Comfy beds but small room.

The rooms are super slow, no elevator (obviously), very loud in the street as all the cafes and coffee shops are just in the street. The beds are not comfortable. The price should be less a bit but location…. I don’t know what breakfast they serve as we didn’t eat there.
A cozy hotel, a clean room, a friendly, very easy-going staff, the location is just in the very centre, near the railway station and underground stop. Nearby several tram lines. The bar is good music is amazing there. The cat is the real owner of the bar. He is amazing.

On arrival we were placed in the hostel accommodation but being in our 5os we needed a lift and they did accomadate us by moving us over to the main hotel I have stayed here several times before and always enjoyed my stay here. The room had a double bed and 1 square soft pillow and was very tight to access the far end of the bed due to limited space and there was a constant draft from the window even tho it was closed other than that out was an enjoyable stay

Very steep stairs to reach the rooms, which are located on the other side of the street where the reception is. The common bathroom was small and not that clean, there was wet toilet paper on the floor and it was crumbed, could not move in it. Not soundproof for sure.
Superb location by the train station and the centre, with lots of food options around it. Good for an overnight stay.

Wall sockets needed a little renovation and the windows some cleaning. No Dutch channels on the tv, and no stable WiFi in my room (no idea if other rooms had the same stability)
Old look of the bar and the maze of small corridors and stairs to the rooms. The breakfast was okay, and the location was superb.
