My booking was transferred to Amaru Colonial hotel for the same price (including breakfast) due to temporarily lack of tourists due to political crisis in Peru. Both hotels are close to city center. Situation in Peru now is close to normal and all tourist services (including visiting of Machu Pichu) are operating with small tourist groups.

The staff were so friendly and went out of their way to help us, the location was exceptional, the rooms were clean and spacious, and the breakfasts were divine. They had coca tea on tap available to help with the altitude sickness and the courtyard was so nice to sit out in.

The beds were a bit hard for us but that is just personal preference to be honest!

I think this is a family business and the staff were so nice at all times. Very polite! The breakfast was amazing and our rooms always clean! Spacious room with a great bathroom! We stayed here 3 times because we felt so at home! Lovely places to eat nearby also less commercial little shops in proximity. Laundry service provided by the Hosteria was perfect.

The hostería is up a big flight of stairs at the Alablado - so you’ll have to walk up. Not a huge deal but not too fun with luggage. The hot water in our shower didn’t work for some reason (and we weren’t able to get it fixed) so we ended up taking cold showers everyday.

most of the guests realise that they need to keep voices low as rooms are arranged around a courtyard, though some have to be reminded :)

Not specific to this hotel, but would love filtered, drinkable water to fill reusable water bottles. I've stayed at hotels throughout Central America with 5 gallon urns filled with drinkable water in common areas.

It was a lovely stay. In fact, I tried to book again on my way through a couple weeks later and they were booked up. The room was large, sunny and clean. It is walking distance to the main square, but you do have to use stairs to get to the inn. This may be a problem if you have a lot of luggage. I loved it as it made for a quiet stay. The staff was friendly and breakfast was very good.

Location was excellent - close to taxi drop off/pickup (just one set of stairs to climb) but very quiet. Recommend room 208 or 209 as they are large, have good views of the city, and are quiet. Lovely staff and good breakfast.

The Location was good, it is about 7 minutes from Plaza de Armas so, there are restaurants and money exchange close there. The breakfeast and the service was excelent and they offer tea during all day long as a courtesy

Excellent accommodation! Location was safe, very nearby the main attractions and lots of restaurants. Staff was very attentive (Mario, Sebastian and Gabriel) and we loved having conversations with them every night. We felt cozy and very welcoming. Breakfast was a plus! We loved this place and definitely will come back.

It's not a CON, but for some people the steps required to get to the hotel aren't convenient.

Great stay, very friendly staff. We could leave our bags for a day while we visited Machu Picchu. The place is located only few minutes walk from the main square. Breakfast is nice, fresh juices, bread, eggs on request, coffee and tasty fresh fruits. The place provides complementary coca tea available in the lobby. Guests are informed that there is no hot tap water but it is not an issue.
