Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FinlandBreakfast was overpriced. Soundproofing was not optimal, there was quite a lot of noise from the corridor and the room above and also from the street outside at night.
Location was perfect. Beds were comfortable, and the room was big enough for four people.

CanadaThere’s really nothing I didn’t like. I would just like to mention that certain staff members were not as friendly as others. I found that some staff didn’t smile and, while they technically did their job, they did not provide a personal human aspect to their interactions. I don’t like to bring this up but it does linger in my impressions so I feel I have to; I actually got the impression that certain staff paid more attention to guests who were dressed a certain way and looked more affluential. Other staff members, however, had genuine welcoming smiles and seemed genuinely happy to help in any way they could. This makes such a positive lasting impression on me. This is what makes me remember a hotel and what makes me talk about it spontaneously to others and recommend it to them.
I liked everything about this hotel. The location is prime and it is perfectly clean and comfortable. The room and bathroom were spacious and provided everything I needed. I enjoyed the marine theme and decor and I absolutely love the architecture and structure with the brick and the supporting beams. The staff were very good, and I found the concierges to be particularly useful, helpful and efficient. I really appreciated them!

United States of AmericaThe reception lounge was lovely, but cold, so one did not want to sit there to read the paper. There was only one chair in the room - a desk chair. Staff at the restaurant were not particularly friendly or attentive.
We liked staff at check-in, size of room, view of bay, comfort of the beds. It was nice to have a restaurant on site for breakfast. The reuse of the old building was great. We liked the availability of having newspapers. We had an issue with a lamp and service was exceptionally fast and professional, better than other hotels we've stayed at.

United States of AmericaWe hurt our back humping bottled water down the hill to the hotel room. Can’t afford the eight dollars per quart water in the room, they should provide drinking water at hotel of this caliber. So simple. Florida is a little thin, over the weekend a kid was running back-and-forth in the room above us, interrupting our peace and quiet. Blue mermaid restaurant is gorgeous, but breakfast just so so. It’s a chowder house, we wanted to try chowder around 10:30 AM before check out, but they don’t have it till lunch. Crab omelette, a bit fishy and few pieces of shell in it. Coffee is weak and espresso six dollars a shot! The air conditioner/heater is modern but blows right on the bed and room was never the right temperature for some reason. Overnight we turned it off and it was fine.
Spotlessly, clean, wonderful hotel, inviting lobby, fascinating, national Park, Maritime Museum, right there. Right on fisherman‘s wharf.. Corrine at the front desk is a superstar and went above and beyond in every way. The word no is not part of the vocabulary at the front desk, never heard it.

Had stayed at the Argonaut many years ago and wanted to stay again. Had an all night flight from Tokyo and was exhausted when we arrived in San Francisco. We had to pay $79 to check in early at the hotel but needed to sleep so we paid it, but did not expect that.
