The location is walkable to town and the ocean. There was no breakfast offered but they had coffee and tea in the office throughout the day. The room was spacious and comfortable. Would stay again.

Our room was quite rustic - bordering on funky and could use a little updating and new carpet or flooring, but it was clean and the price was fair and we would stay there again.

We enjoyed the rustic old inn setting. We rented the family suite for two couples and it was a good arrangement with each couple having a private bedroom plus an area with a table and chairs where we could all gather. The location is very nice - convenient to exploring the coast and the grounds have beautiful old trees and lots of plants.

Not visible from the road. But that’s OK, it added to the quietness.

It’s very quaint. Has sort of a “Madonna Inn“ feel about it, only better! Very spacious rooms. Loved the little fake fireplace, which was actually our furnace. The plumbing was a little outdated, but aside from that, I really can’t fault it.

There were no instruction on how to turn the fan on. The tub area should be regrouted. That is a small thing that goes a long way. The pool looked dirty. Coffee supplies could have been replinished daily and you really should have coffee ready in the lobby by 7 am with milk alternatives.

I loved the vicinity to the Butterfly sanctuary. The hot tub was great. The room was spacious and comfortable. We loved how the fireplace turned on with heating the room.

Nice place. The room we stayed in was a bit outdated and could be updated and renovated.we stayed in a room at the main building. It looks as the rooms in the yard are newer. The staff was nice and helpful. The place is located in a butterfly park. It was most of the time quiet. Not very far from downtown.

The only negative element is that there is not much parking. Parking is along a very narrow strip parallel to the rooms. Parking is relatively tight to get into and out of, especially if other guests are loading or unloading their cars. You have to transit quite close to parked cars.

Coffee service could be improved. The heating unit in Rm 11 was noisy. With that said, the unit in my son's room (#12) ran quietly.

The website mentions that rooms have fireplaces. However, due to regulations to protect the Monarch Butterflies, you aren't able to use the fireplace. This wasn't a major issue for us, but I thought they should just not mention rooms having a fireplace.

We only stayed for one night, but the location was great, room was large and comfortable. Its an older property but was in good condition and met our needs.

The area experienced a blackout and staff was not really prepared. We had to request a lantern after observing that they had one in the office. They should have come to each room and offered it without guests having to ask for it.

The room wasn’t very clean. We found a case of empty beer cans, and the microwave and fridge were dirty and never cleaned. We had to cleaned ourselves, but could have asked the staff to do so, and am sure they would have. The alarm clock wasn’t working but maintenance was right on it and fixed it.

We love the staff, size of the rooms, and location.

The room wasn't ready at check-in so I had to wait another 20 minutes for them to finish cleaning. Overall the property is a bit older and not super modern.

I liked the proximity to the butterfly grove and the beach (a short walk), the hot tub, and the general quiet vibe. It was nice for a solo traveler or would have been good for a couple as well.
