Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaInitial room assignment was terrible, especially for $650. Received an upgrade, but only for $100 more per night!

SingaporeThere are few places to sit and rest in common areas. On the bravo you have to pay hundreds of dollars per hour in order to sit on a chair.

United States of AmericaUnfortunately, I got a room closest to the very busy noisy lobby. I booked months in advance but got a last minute room assignment. I asked to move but they only offered me a street facing room which was likely just as noisy and without a balcony. No upgrade was offered. The very loud lobby music starts a 5:30 am, I asked them to turn it down and they did, but through the old wooden floors, walls and windows you hear everything. The room also needed a major overhaul; stained carpet, saggy mattress, small basic bathroom, no black-out shades, only plantation shutters, which are attractive but not darkening. The room size, charm and high ceiling were fabulous, the balcony good size overlooking the courtyard, but overall, for a 2 night stay of over $900 for 2 queen beds, it was disappointing. One thing I did not realize, as it is so popular and even in early December the property had lots of holiday festival activities, so it was incredibly crowded all day!!
The antique charm, history, food, facilities, pool, staff and location are fantastic.

United States of AmericaToo many people. Had no idea I could barely walk to front desk to check in. I understand it is a historical landmark and the public cannot be denied access but the waits for guests staying there was a bit too much.

United States of AmericaHad book two rooms with full ocean view in the "Views" building. However, one of the rooms only had partial seaview. Further that room had a much smaller bathroom than normal for this room and price. Despite I brought these two items to the attention of customer service/front desk, the hotel did not do anything about it, so I feel cheated
Location on the beach was perfect. the best part of our stay was to sleep with the balcony door open to hear the ocean waves at night. Despite the big holiday weekend and tons of people on the hotel grounds, it was quiet during the evening and nights.

GibraltarWe had significant issues in check-in due to travel delays including a dirty room assigned to us - but staff did what they could to help on the first night and then helped move us to an upgraded room afterwards... after which the stay was very good.
Beautiful classic hotel - a local icon! Parking and valet were excellent, staff were generally helpful, facilities are very good and a good range of shopping and dining options... pricey but great quality. Pools were busy but clean and well managed and the overall ambience of the place is great.

United States of AmericaIt was nice to be in the "attic" room because it seemed private, but very non-family friendly since we had to walk 4 kids up and down stairs and then all the luggage and crib had to be carried up. Also, the room was stifling hot when we got in--the portable AC either was slow to start or it just didn't ventilate enough time before our check in. And right when we got in and used the bathroom we saw ants in the bathroom and on the window sills. I really wanted one of the newer rooms but they don't have capacity for 4 kids so that was disappointing; I would have paid for that.
The view was amazing from the hotel room and from the restaurant

United States of AmericaIt was frustrating our early check in request was not honored. The seaweed was terrible and a minimal effort to bulldoze it into a stinky pile was all that was done. For the excessive price point I expected better customer service. Charging 8.00 for a 16 ounce coke is excessive. If I return I will not be dining on property. The food was subpar at best. I was under the impression my view would be the ocean.
I have been wanting to stay here since I ate lunch here over twenty years ago. The gardens were beautiful. I loved the additions they made to the hotel.

United States of AmericaChecking in was very long. I had to wait till after 430 to get a room and by that time my family could only enjoy the pool for less then an hour since we had reservations at Sheerwater. We were only able to enjoy our room for a couple of hours.
This hotel is in a prime location to catch the beautiful views. There are some good spots to eat.
