Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

outdated, but for the price and only stayed one night it was great!
I liked that it was very close to restaurants/bars. Walking distance! Also very close to the golden gate bridge. Seemed like it was on the good side of San Francisco, people walking all night.

Location is well within walking distances to food, shopping and tourist places. No need to drive. I enjoyed sight seeing and eating. Very convenient with free parking included. Overall, it met my needs.

Bare bulb, squeaky old bed.

could be a little cleaner, a few things did not work e.g. the light by the mirror small parking lot you can hear the sounds of the neighbours

We had to book last minute and we were happy to find a room. It's nothing fancy, but it is definetely good to spend a night or two. The sheets were not super clean but then again, for a last-minute booking, can't complain! Walking distance to a lot of restaurants and to Presidio Park.

Should be cleaner.
Good location, well connected to the main sights by public transportation Muni, bus 28. The room is well equipped with microwave and fridge as well as a table for two. Service was very good. Free parking is a huge plus. Price is good for San Francisco.

Staffs are knocking a lot and it sometimes scared me. They opened the door at 9 am and all staffs tried to come to my room except last day. It is not about service. If I had a gun I would shot them by accidently because they acted like robbers. You guys who want to visit please bring private pannel like 'dont interupt me'.

Everything was close by and didn’t have to drive far and wait in traffic…if you wanted to go into the city. Golden Gate Bridge and Museum was close by. Restaurants was a walking distance. Room was big enough for a solo traveler and no disturbance at all.

The room stank, the price was horrible. It should have been $20.00 the bed was nasty. Type of bed that might have bedbugs. So we left. Should receive a refund.

Value was terrible. I decided to pay more($144/night), relative to the local competition, because I wanted a better experience for our New Year holiday stay. However, I did not experience any features that warranted the increased price. In fact, I was disappointed because of the following: 1- No hot water!!! 2- Free parking was advertised, but there were only 4 parking spaces for the complex. 3- Quality of bedding and towels was poor, and they were very old. Checkout time was 11am, and the maid just walked right in at 10am without knocking first. RUDE!!! Wouldn't stay here again unless the price is half of what we paid.
Location was excellent for our trip. Nothing else was to our liking.

Mold all around the room, a refrigerator that wasn't on, leaked. They did have a functioning refrigerator also in the room. The door to the bathroom was in an inconvenient spot, you couldn't open the door & use the sink.
The check in went well,Hash was really personable, but the room was not up to standard. My girlfriend found alot of mold all around the room. The main reason I booked this room was its proximity to the Palace if Fine Arts theater.
