To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaThe only thing was our room never got cleaned when we were there. The cleaners came about an hour before we left. We were there 3 nights. They said cleaning was every other day but ours was never touched. Wished we could have had better cleaning services.
Loved the location and how nice the bedroom was. Also had nice and cold ac for our late spring stay. They also let us store our bags after checkout as we had a late flight

Angie/ Angelique was extremely kind and helpful at reception. Her service was exceptional. The bed was very comfortable, room was clean, the cleaning staff was very friendly and helpful. Reception overall, was very kind and helpful. Location was perfect, walking distance time square.

United States of AmericaRoom was not senior friendly eg. no chair other than desk chair, room was advertised as having sofa bed where there was none, remote control difficult to figure how to use, door too heavy for elders to open, shower 0n/off handle placed where one gets wet when turning on and adjusting. Probably won't choose to stay there again, though staff was exceptional.

New ZealandWe arrived at the airport at 7pm. Check in is open from 3pm. Our room was not ready so we waited half an hour before being able to check in. Laundry facilities not working properly and took my quarters. They advised they would credit it back to my CC. But I can see they charged me the full cost of stay. Apart from those issues, everything else was fine.

CanadaBlankets were paper thin, temperature control was challenging. $105USD for a 20-minute drive to Newark airport was way too expensive, and they didn’t disclose that the ice was exclusive of taxes and tip.
Proximity to Central Park and the theatre district was great! Staff were nice.

The bed was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was nice and had many amenities. The view was pretty good. The complementary breakfast was amazing, I recommend it.

AustraliaThe lifts were too slow in the hotel. When we would request items for the room which is part of house keeping it would take several calls before receiving the item we requested. On two occasions following house keeping services we would return from our day out and find our hotel room door opened.. The front desk staff apologised, however this was not something you would expect from housekeeping.
The location of the hotel was central to many of the places we were visiting. The front desk team and the door service team were great, helpful and always happy to answer questions. The room service staff were okay.

United States of AmericaThe elevator is operated with a digital room key. (you can't get to your floor without the key. Great idea for security. When you use your key and press your floor, the button lights up. If you key doesn' then the button for your floor doesn't light up. The problem is that the lights for several floor buttons in the elevator are burned out and I witnessed several guests (including myself) get frustrated with this. Hotel staff is well aware of the problem since a staff member (who happened to be on the elevator) told me about it. How much $ could it possible take the Hilton Hotel Chain to fix this issue so that guests are not frustrated by this problem? There's just no excuse for it to occur.
The Hotel was very reasonably priced for its modernity, cleanliness, and location. Friendly front desk staff. I was able to leave my luggage at the hotel at 8:30 AM on the day of my check in. Front Desk staff checked my in and when I came back later at 3 PM, my room was ready to go, I was issued a digital key and all went well. The rooms are reasonably spacious (for a manhattan hotel) and well appointed. Location to several major subway lines was also excellent.

United KingdomOur double room could have been more spacious considering it included 2 queen beds. It was difficult to get around the beds at times. The lifts in the morning tend to get busy but they have signage encouraging guests to plan for wait times in peak hours.
The location is fantastic. Very close to many top NYC attractions. It was also very close to several public transport stations that made it very easy to go around the city. Staff was very cordial and helpful. The room was clean and with good size beds.
