To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaI booked a room in a hurry intended for April 7th. Apparently, but now I'm not so sure, I booked it for April 14th. It was pre-paid. I called to explain that I had an issue. I called the hotel and was transferred a couple of times. The person on the phone which I assumed had to be a Hilton rep said that she could change the reservation if I paid an extra $50.00. I agreed since I assumed it was my mistake. She then said that she couldn't do it because the hotel was full. I asked her if she was sure and she said yes. I immediately went online and booked the room for April 7th. I got to the hotel and explained to the manager Nate - he confirmed that there were plenty of rooms. He called Hilton services and we explained together that the rep on the phone had lied. Why though? How did that benefit her? So basically I ended up paying twice which is totally unfair. I was willing to pay the extra $50.00 figuring I made a mistake. But now I'm thinking this was just a total scam.
The location was good and the staff was nice and helpful. The manager Nate did everything he could to help out a situation that basically equated to us being stolen from by Hilton or one of Hilton's affiliates.

United States of AmericaHad a little bit of an issue for parking since the parking garage that’s partnered with the hotel can sometimes be full so we had to go around a few blocks before being able to go back and got lucky that a spot in the garage opened up. The shower door opens from the inside and the water seeps out so the floor gets soaked.
In the heart of the city, it’s close to a lot of shops and restaurants and only 15-20 min walk to a lot of major spots!

Since i booked thru booking.com i wasn't given the 2 free water bottles and I didn't know that was why so when i asked the hotel rep at the desk she let me know but gave me two complimentary bottles. Quentin at the ground level bar was super friendly and warm. Pedro was great in handling my big party of friends and let us know one of them lost their gloves and selfie stick when we realized and called the hotel looking for it.
