To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaUpon arrival one room was leaking water from the bathroom ceiling. Staff was quick at providing a different room. It was not adjoining as requested but it was a dry room. No complaints. It would have been nice to be closer to the rest of our family but other than that it was a goodnights stay.

United States of AmericaFeels dated, two broken elevators out of four for my floor while I was there, large conferences led to lots of noise, not to mention screaming children running in the halls after 10pm multiple times. Parking is absurdly expensive at $36/day, but there aren't any better options. Staff was great as mentioned earlier, but didn't seem to have great tips on local spots and were clearly googling when asked.
Great location, nice staff, multiple in-house restaurants to choose from with good food and beer/other drink options.

The location was very unsightly. One block over and buildings were boarded up and graffiti everywhere. We felt unsafe walking outside away from the hotel.

United States of AmericaThe hostess in the restaurant wasn’t the friendliest . I got a salad to go and it was pricey at $19 and was basic. The gift shop water was $5.75 which is insane. I can see that at a concert or ball game, but not at a hotel gift shop.
Hotel staff are friendly , room was clean and quiet. Noise from highway wasn’t great, but what can you do.
