To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

AustraliaSecond stay in 10 days and absolutely detest hotels not providing even a couple of bottles of water and not even providing room in the in-room mini bar fridge to keep a bottle or 2. Returning from a sweltering hot NY day and then having to drink tap water makes one curse the management of any hotel which destroys a great experience in a heart beat for the want of extra few $$. When a 5 star hotel charges $500 per night, spending another 80 cents on 2 bottles of water or leaving some room in mini bar for guests to put their own bottles is a minimum one expects. I stay in hotels throughout the year globally and I call this 'sledgehammer' approach to a brand loyalty experience.. Deliver 95% great product and then cut corners on 5% (to drive room sales menu of water) and severely compromise client loyalty. JUST DONT DO IT pls.

United States of AmericaI wish there was some flexibility of free breakfast or free parking. Also, wish check-in time was 12.00 noon instead of 3.00 pm. Lots of flights arrive in the morning and one needs to shower and rest before sightseeing.
Loved the cleanliness of the room. The staff was polite and helpful. The hotel is safe and feels like home. The room decor is worth the stay.
