Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Nobody cleaned the room during my four day stay. I learned later you need to request cleaning. Some of the staff were not very friendly, but not all.
Room was very comfortable. Loved free sodas from front desk. Good location.

Interesting smell in the room, and we weren't sure if the AC was working properly (maybe it was just quiet)
Great location, comfortable room, nice clean linens, would come back again! Loved that it was dog friendly and quiet.

It met my expectations.
This was perfect for visiting family on the island. It‘s rather close to the main street (Winslow Way), i.e. about 10-15 min walking distance. They have coffee and water for residents 24/7 (if I remember correctly). The staff was incredibly courteous throughout our stay.

Had trouble keeping the room cool. The air conditioning did not do well
Breakfast was fine for us as we eat light and get going. Room was large and clean. Would like an easy chair for longer stays in the room. Cleaning staff lady was so helpful.

Check-in experience, The hotel has a 4 pm check-in policy, which we weren't aware of and seems odd given they also have a 10 am checkout. We arrived a bit after 2. We waited behind three other parties checking in for a good 15 minutes. Each of them was checked in. When our turn came, we were told our room was not ready and we should come back at 4. Having a busy schedule later in the day, we asked it we could wait for a half hour or 45 minutes. "Your room is not ready. Check in is at 4." We asked if they could do anything for us, show any flexibility. "Your room is not ready. Checkin is at 4."

The shower and toilet combo was quite tiny and the breakfast was mediocre. The pool and hot tub were drained.
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was located less than a block away from a Starbucks.

The room was clean but the carpet should be steamed/sanitized or changed to flooring with washable carpets. Fleas! Also, the pool was empty. Perhaps the property can't afford a heated pool in the PNW, but it should at least keep the area clean. The advertisement shows a beautiful pool, but in July, it was empty and dirty (a bit like a scene from a scary movie!).
Great location and rooms were well-organized and equipped. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

More an FYI for the island that there are only 2 ubers and they switch off shifts so be prepared to walk or have a car! The hotel did supply some numbers for taxis but they didn't answer. Staff wasn't the nicest to my friends but were fine for me.
Great! Didn't look like anything fancy on the site, and it wasn't, but I was surprised it had everything I want out of a hotel for room amenities (fridge, ice, hair dryer, microwave which was especially a nice surprise).

Toilets could have flushed a little bit better/stronger. Pool area didn’t look very good given it wasn’t the season to enjoy.
The showers were nice and beds were comfy. Very clean upon arrival.
