Three things. I checked in online and was told I just needed to pick up keys at front desk. However I had to go through whole check in process again in person and it took at least 10 minutes to check in. Very slow especially after waiting for 10 minutes for the guest checking in ahead of us. Then there is the resort fee that includes "complimentary" WiFi. Not really complimentary considering this hotel has very limited facilities. Finally, the room was very warm but the fan would not turn on. Maintenance came up and told us the AC had not yet started for the season and the fan would not work unless we cranked up the heat. The solution for any ventilation in the room was to open the very heavy window and put a block of wood under it to keep it open a few inches. Not ideal due to street noise.

Bed was comfortable and location of hotel excellent.

Limited bar selection, unenthusiastic staff, ‘ location charge’ added to bill is irritating when it was all prepaid, why not add it to the prepayment!!! Tired and in need of an update.

The restaurant was open rarely and even then its hours were unpredictable (they told me they might close early at lunch). I only ate there once.

The room, the bathroom, the mattress and the shower were super comfortable and well appointed. The room was quiet and clean and well maintained on a daily basis. I slept like a baby, 7 straight hours without waking every night.

My family and I just loved the location! We were able to explore the city without having to pay multiple parking prices! The architecture and history of the building were definitely a plus!

Unfortunately the hotel restaurant and bar was closed due to low season. This was not mentioned during the booking process.

Only gripe is parking of course. You have to pay to use a parking garage. There is one directly across the street.

Great location in Downtown Chicago. Decent price on the room rate. We stayed in the King standard room which we felt was nice, liked the interior, comfortable bed, and loved the shower with the spray hose option and a huge shower head on the ceiling above you, a spa feel. I’d stay here again, it was quiet inside the hotel but busy and lots to do downtown.

No parking. It was such as hassle to look for parking even using the one that’s discounted there.

The older gentleman at the bar was very pleasant.

The timing for breakfast and meals did not seem to fit into our schedule so we always went out where there were many choices so close, so perhaps ease of breakfast or buffet or brunch, they may even have it, but if it is there maybe some additional effort to show it to me. but mostly I loved the architecture and style of this hotel.

The location was the best, basically on Michigan Avenue Magnificent Mile, right across the street from the Drake, and 30% the price, what incredible old architecture. I love to explore these few magnificent hotels that remain, this is not some cookie-cutter hotel. this is special. The Ballroom, I think it was called the Crystal Ballroom would be a blast into the past to revel in, as was great to walk around empty and contemplate the fun and memories so many have had, and we now have our own. The top floor event rooms were also open for us to explore and my 1 year old loved to walk around in peace and safety. We really enjoyed. The staff was largely out of sight, as we had no needs, so I can not comment. The room was good size and the bed very comfy. So close to everything on the Mag Mile, and the underway to Oak Street Beach and Lake Walk Trail. So close to WaterTower Mall and the John Hancock. Was Great!
