Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaBeing that the property was old, the only way up to the room was through stairs and several sets of stairs. No elevator available. There are several first floor rooms for anyone handicap that can not use stairs. No valet parking but the parking lot was a few blocks from the hotel with 24/7 security.
Perfect location next to restaurants, shopping and landmarks. Bourbon was only a few blocks away and not a long walk to Frenchman street. Property was clean and the rooms stayed cold.

United States of AmericaAll the steps! If you are a biggie size person it is not fun to go up all the steps to get to a room and some steps and doorway are very narrow! The floors creek and are uneven. Depending on your room, your bathroom is nothing more than just a closet. You can't even sit straight on the toilet straight on, and it doesn't seem the matter what room. The shower is very narrow, so again, Heaven help you if you are a wide or bigger person.
The look of the hotel is beautiful and the fact a tv show was filmed there is very interesting. A very nice front desk Lady moved us after I had let them know that, I no longer could stay there. Because I just couldn't keep going up and down all those steps to get to our room. She was able later that day to move us to a room, where I still had to go up the 2 flights. It did take me a minute to get up them...having bad knees and heavy set and not in my 20's anymore, but I finally got there. The staff is wonderful and so kind!! The hotel is nice but yes, should of looked into more before booking.

United States of AmericaThe shower is tiny! We didn’t mind it too much but the shower head sprayed everywhere except where you needed it and in a small space that’s frustrating.

United States of AmericaNo elevator and it’s difficult to get luggage in and around the building. The balcony overlooked a side street with vagrants, not Royal St. I wouldn’t pay extra for a balcony overlooking a side street.

United States of AmericaYou can hear everything happening in the other rooms and it was basically like we were in their conversations if they were sitting in the courtyard. Location states no smoking but staff did nothing about all the people smoking right outside our room, we were worried we would get a $250 smoking charge just from other peoples smoke drifting in. Most of staff with the exception of one younger man was less than happy to be at their job. Check in felt more hostile than welcoming. The lady seemed like we were in the way of whatever she was doing before hand.
Property was a good value and a great location.

Had to move coffee pot in am just to plug it in somewhere. Bathrooms could use a little more cleaning but the rest of the room was great.

United States of AmericaSo I did not like the description on booking. When we made the reservation, I was under the assumption that we would have balconies since we got more expensive rooms, but at the location, we learned there were even more expensive rooms that had balconies but the ones we got did not. The problem is in the pictures shown for the rooms, there were balconies. My only complaint about the hotel itself is that there are a ton of stairs and no elevator, but I personally feel the stairs helped with the authenticity of the location and an elevator may have taken away from the feel. Just make sure you ask for a floor room if you have difficulty with stairs.
Loved the location, and the hotel itself was beautiful. There was one front desk worker we loved. He was very accommodating and helped us in every way possible. He gave us insight to the trolleys and was an amazing asset to this hotel.
