Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe mattress should be upgraded to the better quality and the towels should be cleaner.
The room is tiny but it is acceptable and understandable based on what the current competitive price I paid for. But the TV in the room was not working and the towels were not so clean sometimes. The staircases in the lobby was too steep and long to carry up the heavy luggage to check in or check out. The bed mattress I slept was hard and small.

United KingdomI messaged the hotel through Booking.com - the only way to contact them - a couple of weeks before I travelled saying that I had mobility issues and would appreciate a room on the ground (their 1st) or first (their second) floor. I didn't receive a reply so after a few days my travelling partner also messaged the hotel to ask this. Unfortunately when I arrived I was told that they hadn't received this request so had put us on the third floor! After 20+ hours of travelling I knew there was no way I'd be able to climb two flights of stairs with a heavy suitcase, and I was told that I should have called the property instead of messaging - but not only did I have no contact details for them, as communication was only through the messaging service on Booking.com, I also live in the UK so a call to the US would cost a lot of money! Thankfully the staff member on duty was able to find us two rooms on the first (their second) floor, for which I was really grateful. The only other thing I'd like to suggest is that they put hazard tape on the edge of the top step, as it's markedly deeper than the other steps. Many times I tripped over it going up, and twice I almost fell down the stairs because I forgot that the depth was different and almost slipped on the edge of the next step down!
I was really impressed by the hotel. The rooms were serviced every day, with soap and shampoo/conditioner sachets provided in the bathroom, along with clean towels, and coffee bags with sugar/creamer were left to use in the coffee machine in the room. The bed was a lot better than I expected - I have arthritis and fibromyalgia so often find beds uncomfortable, but the bed in my room was neither too firm nor too soft, and I wasn't able to feel any springs, and as I brought a pillow with me from home I had more sleep than I would usually expect on holiday!

United States of AmericaVery dusty, sheets and towels were stained, it didn’t look presentable. I also don’t like how there wasn’t 24hr reception and did get locked out of my room once because the key card didn’t work but was able to find someone to help me.
Convenient! I am from San Francisco & was visiting for a bit and enjoyed how accessible this area is. This hotel was affordable as well!

United States of AmericaHonestly, the shower isn't great and I wish there were more things in the room, like more coffee for the coffee pot and better soap. But it wasn't that big of a deal. Also, because Mission District is super loud at night, it would have been better if it was a little more soundproof in the hotel, but again, it wasn't that big of a deal.
I had no problem with the staff. I brought my daughter even though I wasn't originally planning on doing so and booked a room for just myself. The clerk gave us a more comfortable room than the one I would have had, and I appreciated this very much. The location is great as long as you know what to expect from the Missoon District. It's an artsy, cultural district, and doesn't offer much more than art, bars, good food, theatres, etc. It is not a clean area by any means, but like I said, you won't be disappointed if you know this ahead of time. The hotel is in the heart of this district, just a couple buildings north of Clarion Alley, Roxie Theatre, and the BART. There's also a delicious pizza place almost nextdoor that specializes in detroit style pizza. The hotel was reasonably clean and is really just meant to be a place to sleep. It's nothing fancy but is comfortable enough and has a good value. My daughter had fun and even seemed fine relaxing in the hotel for a long time.

United States of America- Hallways smell smoking despite the fact that all rooms had non-smoking sign on them. - When the bathroom fan was on it brought smoking smell from other rooms. - The room stank a bit, like sewage smell. - The room didn't have any night stand by the bed, no chair and no small table.
Location was good and very accessible to many restaurants and groceries and public transportation and etc.

ChileThe hallway had a distinct smell of chlorine and urine. The service at reception was minimal and unfriendly. The rejected earthquake safety inspection notice on the entrance was somewhat demoralizing.
The location is excellent and there is no better value in the area. Tons of restaurants and stores nearby, plus a nearby public transport station. The room was alright, clean enough.
