Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaOnly suggestion for improvement would be a coffee maker in the room.
Prime location. Close to a ton of great Italian and Chinese restaurants. Vesuvio Cafe is right down the street and theres a karaoke bar around the corner. Very clean hotel and rooms. Walking distance to Fishermans Wharf, Pier 39 and Union Square. Would definitely stay here again.

United States of AmericaNo tea or coffee in room, but that is literally the only complaint I have and even it doesn't matter much because its so close to any and every kind of tea and coffee you can walk to.
Ease of walking to Pier 39,Coit tower and Chinatown. Clean rooms, super quiet and front desk staff was so accommodating of our early check-in.

United States of AmericaGetting inside is a bit challenging at first. You need to park and ring a doorbell at the front entrance to gain access to the front desk. No coffee available in hotel. Parking is $35 per day and is convenient below hotel. Again you need to use a button at parking entrance to raise fenced gate for parking.
Clean property and good location for visiting China town and surrounding area. All attractions within walking distance if your willing to do so. Reasonable price for room.

United States of Americait’s a little annoying that we have to ring the bell to make the staff unlock the door and get in the lobby. I guess it’s safe for us. It would be better if they use keycard to get in the lobby. No breakfast, no free parking it’s $35 a night to park at the hotel. The room was not blackout curtain.
Decent size of room, quiet hotel, AC was great, the bed was comfortable, great location it’s in walking distance to little Italy, fisherman’s wharf etc. the staff was nice. They provided iron.

GermanyI was expecting a bit more for the price. Room window was looking into a very tiny courtyard, where you could see the windows of other rooms and almost no light/sky, hard to get some fresh air in the window, AC is loud. Furniture is quite old. I'd search another hotel for my next stay in San Francisco. Probably, will need to pay more, but this hotel was also not very cheap.
Location is quite good - easy to reach.

United States of AmericaThe room we had was very small and the bed VERY uncomfortable. Its very dirty outside the hotel with homeless people sleeping on the sidewalk right around the corner.
Great location. Very Clean and the staff was wonderful. Water pressure was excellent with very fast hot water. Very old fashion with an actual key for your room. Very fast elevator and the room A/C worked well. We had an inside room which helped block out the city noises. Lot of great reviews for this place is why we selected it, but I cannot agree with all of them.

United States of AmericaThe only thing that comes to mind is the bed. Comfortable, but the frame might be the loudest in existence. Simply sitting on it gave me anxiety, it was so loud!
Without a doubt the cleanest building I’ve ever set foot in, period. Absolutely nothing has been updated since 1994, so it was like a perfectly pristine time capsule. Im sure some people dislike the aesthetic, but I thought it was charming. It was quiet, staff were very kind, professional and responsive, and everything was fastidiously maintained, from the baseboards to the shower head. They even have their own PARKING. In SF! Amazing.

United States of AmericaThe only con would be the fridge was a little stinky and not cold. but it was fine, we didn’t have a reason to use the fridge anyway. I’m sure if we did, we probably could have asked the front desk person to see about switching it out. We saw two different staff members during our weekend stay, and they were both very helpful.
We did not use the parking option. However: -safe & convenient location in Chinatown -clean hotel (nice lobby) -somehow, we never had to wait for the elevator from the lobby or the fourth floor (it was quick and just there waiting for us it seemed) -cheapest room in SF with its own bathroom -writing desk with note pad -closet with iron & ironing board -armchair & nightstand -AC was COLD -shower water was HOT -TV armoire with mini fridge -soap & shampoo smelled really good (brought them back with us) -optional anti-slip mat in the bathroom, if needed (rolled up under the sink) -perfect amount of towels + extra toilet paper -ice bucket provided -bed was firm (a little too firm for my liking, but I was exhausted from all the walking anyway and knocked out fast) -extra blanket in the armoire
