Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

There was not enough parking around the hotel. And misinformation at the front desk about the extra hotel fee.

There was minimal room for luggage in our room, including to place even one suitcase to unpack.
The staff were exceptional, both in reception and particularly at the restaurant, Pembroke’s. We particularly enjoyed the female maître d’ (mornings), and the wonderfully warm and positive breakfast service from Michel. Our room was also meticulously maintained.

Excellent quality bed linen, comfy pillows and beds, great toiletries, wonderful housekeeping and quiet location with plenty of restaurants, bakeries, pharmacies etc nearby.

Overnight valet parking is $55 dollars a night. There's really no where to park by the hotel itself.
I loved the walk-in shower. Also loved the makeup mirror.

Breakfast was tasty but expensive; we found better options in the immediate neighborhood. We found the room to be stuffy and there was no way to air it out so we had to run a noisy air conditioner all night because we like to sleep in a cooler room.
The DuPont Circle hotel is luxurious, providing all the amenities we expected. The room was comfortable, well furnished and had room for us to spread out our belongings. The shower was fine and the heated bathroom floor was a nice treat. Easy access to the Metro was a great bonus.

I have been a frequent guest at the Dupont Plaza Hotel. The staff at the Dupont is exceptional, the rooms are super comfortable, relaxing at the lobby bar with its food options are truly first rate. You are in the best part of DC staying at the Dupont given the food/bar options in the area-let alone a couple of hundred feet from the red line Metro station. As always an awesome stay at the Dupont.

Not a lot of space in front for car drop off

This was a gorgeous out-of-the-way hotel that we found, and we loved everything about it. We stayed in a suite and it was impeccably stocked and extremely comfortable. The staff went out of their way to make us feel special. It was located in the wonderful area of Dupont Circle and we just had an amazing stay.

All good. Even valet parking cost is acceptable!
Room was nice an clean and spacious. The bed was comfy. Hotel location is great, with bars, restaurants fairly close. Quiet neighborhood. It's not family oriented, but more business oriented. Like they have a minibar in the room, but not a mini-fridge. You need to ask for a mini-fridge and and they will get one to your room. It's not a complain it's just an observation. They do strive to accommodate families as well.
