Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaAfternoon check-in staff-very rude, very aggressive and not concerned with our wishes
The staff when we tried to check-in (around 12:30pm) was excellent-our room wasn't ready so when we Did check in at 4:00pm-our room wasn't ready still and the afternoon staff was rude, gave us an bad room next to HVAC units (even though the gentleman on the morning check-in staff suggested she give us an "11 room" the only thing she could say is "NO"-I will never stay there again as long as she works there

United KingdomWe had stayed in the Georgetown Inn some years ago and were delighted to find that it is as comfortable and convenient as ever. Our room was spacious and met my wife's mobility needs. The location was excellent, in the heart of Georgetown. The restaurant was a pleasant venue to meet with friends as we passed through DC.

United States of AmericaThe bathrooms are very dated and in need of updating. The pillows and bedding are sub par. For the prices this hotel charges, I was expecting a much more luxurious bed spread and some fluffy king size pillowcases instead of the mini ones on the king size bed. There’s also no fridge in the room.
The location of this hotel is unbeatable if you want to be in the heart of Georgetown, and it’s also the closest hotel to Georgetown University. The street is lined with great restaurants, cafés and shops and is 1- min walk to M Street. The hotel is charming, but in need of some renovation and updating. When was there the weekend of Jan 27-28, there was work being done in the lobby, so I’m hoping next time I’m there I’ll see an updated lobby. There are two bath robes and two slippers in the closet, which adds a nice touch.

United States of AmericaIt’s an older hotel and a little tired. Doesn’t detract from the comfort and it’s all fine, just shows its age in places. My room on third floor overlooked Wisconsin Avenue and it was a little noisy because of the older windows. I’m from NYC, so it didn’t keep me up, but not quiet. Gym is tiny, tiny and bike was out of order, leaving just a treadmill and some dumbbells as only equipment in the gym.
Location is perfect. Close to everything in Georgetown. Staff was great. Room was very clean and comfortable.

United States of AmericaFor the price the room was fairly average and had some wear. There was no bathtub and the stall shower drained slowly and pooled a bit. The bathroom amenities were also not fully stocked.
The location is outstanding and there are numerous dining and shopping options immediately adjacent. The restaurant downstairs is also delicious for breakfast.

The breakfast was high quality albeit like all American breakfasts too much! The staff were exceptionally courteous and helpful. It was a great location close enough to walk to Downtown but in an elegant and quiet area.

PortugalBeing historic shouldn't mean being shabby. It clearly needs some renovation and a touch of style. It was also surprising that there was no safe in the room.
In the very heart of Georgetown, it has the atmosphere of a real historic hotel; The restaurant downstairs is convenient for breakfast or a quick meal even the list being very short.

United States of AmericaThese are all super small things that we noticed about the room. It would be nice if there was a system that would allow you to call ahead so your car is waiting for you when you get down, but that's a small gripe that I've seen at only a handful of hotels anyway. Room - bathroom is a bit small, but completely serviceable - most hotels are like this anyway. The TV had sound, but no video, which was weird, but we weren't really in the room long enough to care. Bed - one of the bedframes was a bit louder than the other, but the beds themselves were comfortable. Outlets - this is a problem with all hotels... why are there not enough outlets for 2 people to a room? I'm seriously considering bringing a small power strip with me so it's easier to manage. between 2 phones a CPap machine, I had to improvise (which was fine) but it would be great for all hotels to consider more outlets.
Location - Very close to the center of Georgetown. It was super easy to walk around the area and even drive. We had an event in Southern Maryland in the morning and it was easy to get to the highway. Staff - super nice and helpful. The folks doing the valet were quick and efficient and didn't move my seat a ton (which I appreciate a ton). It's also 24/7 so if you're coming in late or leaving early, it's easy to do. Room - Comfortable. The beds were really nice, everything was clean.

The location is excellent if you want to stay in this very cool neighbour. The hotel is old school in that the rooms are very generous in size. Plenty of room for the bags as we were travelling for a month. The neighbourhood is great. Nice shops, old taverns and a 30 minute walk to all the monuments and Smithsonian museums. Good for walking off the beers from the taverns!

United States of AmericaRoom service tel# on the phone in the room was apparently not correct. I pressed the button and dialed the 113 extension with no answer. When I asked the front desk, they told me the tel# was either 114 or 120 (??)
Room was very comfortable. Would have been even better if there was a mini refrigerator - not a mini bar. Just a fridge. For the price, I thought that would be included. Staff was very friendly and top notch with one or two exceptions. Maids, waiters, and parking attendants all great. Food in the restaurant was good.

United States of AmericaSome refreshing maintenance is needed. The carpet in my room was quite stained and there were some other "rough edges" in the common areas.
Comfortable room and pleasant, attentive staff. Also very convenient location for our needs. And it's quaint, small property - not overwhelming or loud.
