Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaVery picky comment but plusher / softer towels would have be nice.
This hotel exceeded my expectations! I felt as though I was in Europe at a 5 star hotel. The property oozes old world charm and service. The location is central to all the hustle and bustle of midtown and yet, when one walks through the hotel doors, one enters a peaceful oasis. The staff is solicitous without being overbearing, and Edwin at the front door greets as if everyone is family. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the bed was among the most comfortable of any hotel we’ve ever stayed in. Special mention to the mini bar and selection of treats in the room.

United States of AmericaWalls are very thin--could easily hear conversations from the rooms next door. No microwave.
Location very central to theater district, Central Park, Times Square, Carnegie Hall. Somehow didn't hear much outside noise. Staff were outstanding--extremely courteous, highly professional and helpful without being overbearing. Room and bathroom were huge (not just for NYC standards but bigger than most standard hotel rooms we've stayed in in other cities) and we just had a standard king room. Housekeeping available daily. Fridge, iron and ironing board, large in room safe, and bathrobes available for use in the room.

The room was much more spacious than expected. The staff were wonderful. The location was perfect for walking almost everywhere we wanted to go. The noise level wasn't bad either.

United States of AmericaThe property is a bit run down and the TVs were not placed well for watching from bed. The bathroom door squeaks so hard to be quite in the morning
Lovely older hotel. Lovely staff, super friendly and accommodating. The property needs maintenance and one room was missing a set of curtains so it was noisy but the moved us to another room and it was lovely. The rooms are spacious which is rare.

The Michelangelo is that rare mid town hotel which is strategically located , well appointed and lovingly managed by a superb and committed staff of customer celebrating staff. The making an excellent staff is how they respond to unforeseen issues - and the Michelangelo staff from day manager Elizabeth to her able desk door and bell captains were all accommodating warm and welcoming. Thanks for another great stay.

United KingdomThe bar frequently ran out of premium beers ( but this seemed to be the same at a lot of bars & restaurants across NYC). i have had to think hard to come up wit this fault, as everything else was perfect.
Location is perfect for exploring NYC, the room was really spacious and comfortable. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. My next visit to NYC will be at the Michaelangelo. Love it.

United States of AmericaNo refrigerator/freezer/microwave/coffee maker in the rooms. I took an upgrade to a Junior Suite and the view was of looking at brick walls. Would never spend this kind of money for a room that didn't include breakfast/coffee, etc. ........ just not worth the extra costs.
The bedding was very comfortable.
