Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe room was fairly isolated, located towards the back of the complex. It was adjacent to a busy street with a lot of traffic. Room also was adjacent to the irrigation valve which went on at 6:10 am and ran until 6:40 am. When it went on it was like 20 rooms were showering at the same time. Very noisy...unfortunately, I spoke with a hotel staff and they said they would look into changing the start time until 7 am, but no changes in the 3 mornings we were there.
large room. great grounds on the site. Restaurant in the hotel was excellent.

United KingdomBreakfast had a very small offer. Some elements of the room, such as windows and carpets, could be upgraded and cleaner. Price was on a higher side.
Location was excellent, a quiet side road at the heart of downtown Santa Barbara. Lovely surroundings within a small complex of colonial houses.

United KingdomOur coffee machine didn't work. The electric sockets were loose to the point of being dangerous, and the price was far too high. On arrival, we were not told how to get into our room - it was tricky with two locks,a Yale lock, and a lock on the door knob. When help was summoned, he said, "everyone makes that mistake." Well, you could accompany guests to their rooms and show them or at the very least explain to them how to get into their rooms!
The staff were all charming and super helpful. The gardens were gorgeous and well maintained. Breakfast was very nice

United States of AmericaThe value did not line up with what was offered. Over $400 for 1 night and the breakfast was bad. We stayed at a Holiday Inn Express in Grover Beach the night before and the breakfast was much better there for 1/4 the price.
Clean and nice property.

United States of AmericaAlthough it was for a good reason (construction of a cycle lane), the construction right outside the hotel was extremely loud. I was awoken on my Friday & Monday morning stays by early morning construction. On Monday, I was woken by a jackhammer at 7:15am. It sounded like it was just outside the room even though our room was situated above the gardens on the inner courtyard. I wish I had known I was going to be woken up very early by the construction outside. A warning would have softened my frustration a little.
Lovely, quiet hotel with comfortable bed and very clean room.

United States of AmericaOur a/c never got really cold and it became stuffy in the room. We weren't there long enough to put in a formal complaint but if we were I know they would have done everything possible to remedy the situation.
Soon as I set foot I knew I liked this place. Staff were so friendly and helpful. They even let me text them if I had any questions. I would come here to take pictures because the grounds are delightful and so are the rooms. Nice and cozy that come with robes and plenty of towels. If you are planning to come here it's perfect and close to the action. It is also close to the Santa Barbara Court house

United KingdomFront office staff at check-in did not even greet us. He was keen to point out that we parked in the wrong spot without telling us where else to park. We were tourists from outside the US, not familiar with the town. First impression not good. Morning breakfast is served on a small table and guests have to get some stuff and then find somewhere to seat from a choice of 4 small tables and a couple of couches. When busy you are expected to eat somewhere else - where? There is a restaurant at the next room, which does not allow sitting for breakfast and you are told to leave because “the linen is not for you”!!! Pity it’s an old charming property, with bad service and attitude. Have to say that the front desk lady at check-out at least smiled. Oh and another man on the second morning said Good Morning…
