Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The room was small and our window directly faced the wall of another building.
The hotel is right next to the beach. We also enjoyed the fire pit on the patio and the sun roof.

The noise level room-wise is the main inconvenience: thin/hollow doors, small hallways, and creaky loud mattress/beds. The mattresses make a loud noise just sitting on them--like a rubber or plastic heavy screeching creaking noise. We were moved from our original room because the safe wasn't working, and the beds in both rooms made these noises. Is there a big plastic sleeve/sheet to protect the mattresses? Is it a big plastic bed frame supporting the mattress? I have no idea, but the beds are loud--hanky panky or no hanky panky. They are just loud. Also, the shower soap in the first room was clouded over and spoiled. It smelled like rotten eggs. (The room change and soap problem was handled nicely by the staff. They are very attentive.)
The location is great, and the staff is friendly and attentive. You basically walk out the front door to the beach, and the place also has a patio to lookout at the beach or a rooftop patio to people watch from and enjoy the sunset.

Walls are quite thin. We could hear amorous activities above our room (good for them though!).
It is an exceptional location! There is a rooftop patio with an unobstructed view of the ocean. Perfect for a sundowner! Lots of great restaurants and bars nearby.

It might have been good to have a coffee maker in the room, but the room was relatively small so there was not a lot of extra room for this. Having an outlet and beside table on both sides of the bed would also be a good convenience, versus just on one side.
The location is simply excellent if you want to stay right on the beach, and it's a quiet stretch of VB. The property overall is somewhat dated, eg the stucco exterior, but it is immaculately clean inside and the style of the rooms is just fine (nice moldings, modern drywall, etc.). The staff were very friendly and helpful ever time we interacted. I paid for parking (limited spaces, $20/day) which was completely worth it -- easy to come and go without having to worry about that aspect. Walking distance to the canals and little food places, coffee.

As expected from a beachfront location, the property shows some wear and tear. Floor of the shower was cracked and showed some rust. But you're picking this place because you want beach access!

Expensive and had to pay a $100 damage deposit on arrival.
Superb location and well appointed though small room. Comfortable for the night. Able to leave our luggage after checkout before our evening flight.

There is no laundry machine inside the hotel, you have to drive a few miles. It is kind of inconvenient when you just finish swimming or surfing and would like to wash your clothes.
Super close to the beach. One of my fac things about this hotel is you can actually enjoy the sunrise with the seaview on your own bed! Staffs are nice.

Smallish rooms and bathrooms, not much room to stow your bags.
Great location, straight out of your door onto the beach. Plenty of bars and restaurants on the main strip. Liked the rooftop relaxing area, we spent some time up there with a few wines.
