Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaSadly it was under massive renovation and they did not have a lounge set up for guests nor a place to sit and order a drink. In such a large hotel they could have carved out a business room for that. They did have coffee and danish so that was appreciated.
Love the location, staff, our room.

United States of AmericaDated. Looking forward to completion of the renovation. The rooms desperately need it. The chair is not comfortable. Room is dark. The curtains don’t stay all the way open so it blocks the light from 1/3 of the window. Hallways dark. The value of the room was a bit pricey considering that there were really no amenities in the hotel.
Great location with plenty of bars & restaurants in the area. Close to NYU, can walk 20 mins north or south to Soho or Chelsea area. Great size room. Clean. Comfy bed.

Staff was great! Restaurant, bar and coffee lounge was under construction - no alternatives on offer and seeing as coffee was included in price should have been offered in room coffee or voucher or sth. Rooms could do with being soundproofed - could hear ppl in the corridor and my neighbours having sex.

United KingdomThe staffs seem rather unprofessional (might be due to COVID layoffs). I was initially given a room without a Union Square view even though I booked a room with the view. I was given a new room when I asked for the change, but there wasn't an apology. The staffs were often having casual conversations amongst themselves while leaving the doors and the reception desk unattended. The hotel was undergoing a renovation and all restaurants were closed which I was not made aware of prior to my stay. There is a mandatory destination charge of $25 per night. This means that you will need to spend $25 per night in the hotel somehow although all dining options were unavailable. The only options were minibars and laundry which are both terribly overprices.
The room was generous in size, very clean and had a great view over the Union Square. The location was perfect. It's close to many amenities including groceries and restaurants.

United States of AmericaRestaurant / amenities are under construction. This should be made known before a reservation is booked, vs. being alerted after (not fair to guests). Once it is made you are committed, and this may have been of significant importance to some guests. We were able to work around it, and the hotel helped make up for it.
Room size was perfect; very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful.

United KingdomWe were notified beforehand (and hence it wasn't really a problem) that the hotel is currently being refurbished. During our stay the bars and restaurant were closed. Only one lift working but it was manned by a member of staff, so we never had to wait.
We had a very well appointed suite. We stayed for seven days so this gave us plenty of space. New York hotel rooms are often quite small, so we were very happy. This is our fourth or fifth stay here. It's a great location to visit the city, but well away from the "madness" of Times Square!

United States of AmericaWhen I booked, it was noted that construction on the hotel would be ending before my stag, but it was still going on when I arrived. Thus, the restaurant and bar at the hotel were not open due to construction and there was noise all night long at one point (not just during the day).
The bed and pillows were very comfortable, the room was spacious, the view from the room was nice, and the hotel's location is fantastic.
