Le Spa des lavandes, hotel in Valensole

Situated in Valensole in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, Le Spa des lavandes features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking, as well as access to a hot tub.

This gorgeous little apartment right in the lavender fields is one to be remembered and a must stay in my opinion. Agnès and Frédéric were the most accommodating and wonderful hosts that went above and beyond. The apartment is clean, beautifully furnished, calm and relaxing, air conditioned, the spa was the perfect end to the day. We had dinner prepared by Agnès and Frédéric which was delicious and much easier as the town is a short drive away. Breakfast was also delightful with most of it homemade by Agnès. Can’t rate this property any higher and will remain one of my most memorable stays. Thank you ❤️

Château du Grand Jardin, hotel in Valensole

Set in a 17th-century château with manicured gardens, this B&B is located in the Verdon Regional Park. Meals are served in the former wine cellar and guest rooms feature period furniture.

Certainly an authentic chateau. Conveniently located in the heart of Valensole with easy parking and 30 mins drive into the Verdon Gorge. The host was friendly and accommodating when you asked for something. You did have to ask though, for coffee, for milk at breakfast so be forthright otherwise you miss out. The breakfast was genenrally quite good and the breakfast room quite beautiful with antique furniture and a beautiful view over the garden. We arrived on a very hot day and there was no offer of help when we had to drag 50 kg of luggage up 5 flights of stairs to the suite on the top floor. There was no offer of a cold drink , no water or a fridge in the room so the first thing we did was drive off in search for cool hydration. The chateau itself is very interesting, steeped in history but I did wonder if it had been cleaned properly since the 17th century as it had a very shabby chic feel to it. The building is adorned with original paintings, furniture, even the cutlery / china looked hundreds of years old. The building creaked and it oozed authentic history and the experience was mostly positive. Such an interesting place.

Very small town, right in the middle of the lavender field area. Not much to do in it, almost no attractions, very few restaurants. But it is definitely conveniently located for lavender fields and for visiting other nearby towns. So we spend one day visiting the lavender fields and the others doing something else, but we had to pass by the fields every time. I felt that was really nice. We felt that 4 nights there was more than enough.

Sadly we arrived when the lavender fields were already cut (only few were still nice lavender colour). In the village one restaurant was opened until 23:00 and they served us even though we arrived after 22:15. The others were already closed.

A charming little village of Provence, the best time to enjoy the place and its surroundings would be June-Mid July, when the lavender grows and before it gets harvested. The area is really beautiful, but lavender being the main attraction, for those who come off season I wouldn’t recommend staying more than a day or two; as there’s much more authentic villages to discover all around. Having the chance to be living not so far from Valensole, my husband and I never cease to be amazed by this magical place.

Valensole is a small village on the edge of the plateau.

Valensole is a small village on the edge of the plateau. You can see this in 2-3 hours, but it's a good starting point for a regional discovery. Great location for hikes, bike rides, (easy) mountain bike rides and lakes in the neighbourhood. Close enough to thee Verdon (30km) to visit, unless you are a rock climber and will want to be closer to this. The village has some smaller supermarkets and local cafe, butcher (strongly recommended!) and baker.

Overall a good stay at the chateau. Property grounds are very pretty with nice landscaping, a rose garden, and nearby fields with horses roaming. It was a relaxing place to return to after long days out exploring. As a group of three, we stayed in the top floor suite which was very spacious and well decorated. We loved the views from all our windows and sitting on the private balcony to read in the morning. Perfect location if you’re in the area to see the Valensole lavender & sunflower fields.

Very nice hotel! We had a great stay. Breakfast on the terrace, a nice swimming pool and garden and the view into the town on the opposite hill. Breakfast had all important things, orange juice, coffee, nice Croissant, fresh yoghurt, fresh baguette, jam, boiled egg and cheese. Only something like ham, salami etc. you might miss. We would come back anytime. Really great BnB and a very nice host.

The best localisation to visit Valensole and its surroundings. I was shocked by their breakfast, really, everything you want is in this place. Amaizing swimming pool, the owners are incredibly friendly. This place deserves a mention, it is simply amazing, well-kept, incredibly clean. If you are looking for a great place in Valensole then believe me, you just found it!

The hotel is amazing, the location, room and restaurant. We went to eat there twice in one day. The staffs are so nice. We came back late from a prewedding photo shooting, and the kitchen is closed. But the staff still helped us make pizza and wine, and deliver to our room. So we can have a great meal after an exhausting day.

You can go wrong with this small place. Florence is over-the-top friendly and chipper. Great breakfast, especially for France. A very tranquil environment. This is the third stay at three different places on the Valensole Plateau and this was the best.
