This place was exceptional value for money and the perfect stop over for a night as we was on a family road trip, two adults, two kids and our little dog, yes it was dog friendly, facilities were great, breakfast excellent, and a Starbucks on site!! We couldn't believe our luck and if ever we're passing and needed to stop over we wouldn't look anywhere else, all staff other than one was excellent, the only down side was the guy who was looking after the pool, think he thought he was guarding an embassy from attack rather than keeping an eye on people in a pool!!
The Welcome Inn Rotherham/Sheffield offers free parking, free WiFi and a 24-hour front desk. This hotel is about 3 miles from Meadowhall Shopping Centre and close to the M1 motorway.
Converted from an old guardhouse, Garrison Hotel combines historical atmosphere with modern facilities. There is free WiFi, and a restaurant serving homemade food.

The room was fine apart from a damp smell when we walked in. Later we discovered the fan in the bathroom didn’t work, which explained the damp smell when we walked in. It wasn’t ideal when the toilet was used either. Shame really as the food, and staff were all good.
We didn’t report it as we stayed one night and to be fair it should have been obvious to who ever went in to clean the room

We were told the rooms and bar were being upgraded in October and it's well overdue. The first room we were allocated smelled of damp and there was black mould in the bathroom. We should never have been put there. The second room was clean and warm but fixtures and fittings were worn and tired looking.

A welcoming pub to stay in for a night tor two.
A welcoming pub to stay in for a night tor two. Decent food, comfortable bed, quiet location and good-sized room. Pleasant staff. Next door to Wentworth Woodhouse. The old church is worth a look for its impressive funerary monuments of the earls of Strafford. Pretty village.

Wentworth is a quaint little village with Wentworth Woodhouse, the village church and the garden centre all well worth a visit. The local pub - the Rockingham Arms is a great place to eat with food reasonably priced.

Wentworth is not so easy to find from the motorway but for its location and history is worth the effort. The Woodhouse estate is the main attraction and there are other villages close by that have their own attractions. Rather high proportion of traffic through Wentworth but some good walking areas and lovely scenery.
The Rockingham Arms serves food all day.
I plan to return next Spring when Wentworth Woodhouse has improved its gardens but will find accommodation on a less popular route.

This property is correctly priced for the room I think.
This property is correctly priced for the room I think. It’s dated and needs modernising but it’s actually suitable for most. The beds were very comfortable with a comfy duvet and pillows, had kettle and tv and a toilet which is all you need really!
The bar opposite owned by the same people is very nice, food was excellent, we got a discount on food for staying, the staff were very friendly, gave us some good tips for things to do in the area. Breakfast was plentiful with a lot of choice, chef is excellent! Great few days away!

Wentworth is a beautiful picturesque village purposely built by the Earl of Wentworth .
Within walking distance is a well stocked Garden centre that has numerous eateries and children play area and family farm.
The Rockingham Arms have an extensive bar menu .
We had an enjoyable one night stay at the Rockingham Arms whilst visiting Wentworth village. The pub itself is great - cosy and welcoming, and in a good central spot in the village. Staff were super friendly and helpful, and made us feel welcome. We had dinner which was also very good, both quality and value for money. In terms of the room, it was spacious and had a very comfortable king size bed, and everything we needed for a short stay. The shower was powerful and heated up straight away.
So I arrived to be greeted that the Electric was off in the village.
no mention of this in the booking !!!
they had generators!!! right outside my room
to be fair they did ask if I wanted to cancel !! when I got to the hotel
a phone call a couple of hours before would have been better.
second hotel in this group that I’ve stayed at in the last two weeks
I’ll be looking for more options in the future.
very disappointed as some of the other reviews read well !!
The rooms were spacious, airy, clean and contained everything needed from kettle to iron, television and fan. the beds were comfortable. However the paintwork was rather scuffed in places and needed a bit of tlc I couldn't connect to the wifi (probably me rather than the technology)and Wentworth itself for me was a dead spot. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was brilliant with a good choice and the pub and garden brilliant.
Pub is a great place for a meal and the staff were very helpful arranging the table for my fathers birthday. Hotel rooms are in an annex across the road. Good facilities for an overnight stay. We didn't have breakfast during our stay
Great location in the beautiful village of Wentworth. The room was comfy with a queen sized bed and spotlessly clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. Will definitely be returning soon.
