Partially within the Peak District, Sheffield is best known for being the setting of ‘The Full Monty’, a film whose title means the whole works. Indeed, vibrant Sheffield has the whole works - excellent shopping, great nightlife and an impressive sporting heritage.
It first came to fame during the Industrial Revolution for its pioneering role in the UK steel industry. One technique invented here is commemorated in the name of its most famous theatre – The Crucible, home of the Snooker World Championships.
Close by are the peaceful Winter Gardens with their multi-arched roof. The Peace Gardens are overlooked by the elegant town hall, and the focal building of the impressive Botanical Gardens somewhat resembles Crystal Palace, also by the same architect.
The city’s 2 football teams – Sheffield United and Wednesday – play at Bramall Lane and Hillsborough Stadium respectively. The cutting-edge English Institute of Sport is also based here, and the nearby Sheffield Arena is a prime UK venue for music and entertainment. The best shopping is found in the Meadowhall Centre near Rotherham.
Booking.com’s Sheffield accommodation includes city centre hotels with parking, others by Victoria Train Station, and guest houses near Doncaster Sheffield Robin Hood Airport.

Transport around Sheffield excellent with frequent bus and tram services.
And when your there, don't miss the Crucible Theatre and the Kelham Island Museum. Plus Ponds Forge if you're into aquatic sports.

Large city but has local feel.
Large city but has local feel. Bus and tram network is excellent, easy to travel around. City brands itself on Sport and doesn't disappoint. At time of visit there was a lot of building works near to hotel. Hopefully when finished will make a great place. Other side of city was lovely, lots of greenery, smooth traffic roads and lots of active travel facilities. For best food I went over to London Road, about 15mins walk.

Sheffield is like a second home to us, as my son studied university there. It's challenging in terms of walking - very hilly but that is part of the charm. People are really friendly and warm. I also love the diversity.
It is a very compact city, but with very green suburban areas. Many architectural and nature sites. The food scene is very diverse, as there are many overseas students.

Sheffield is a really friendly city.
Sheffield is a really friendly city. The transport links are also great, it is also easy to get around. I love the botanical gardens and the winter gardens. There are loads of great pubs and tap rooms - Vocation, Geist, Industry tap, Triple Point to name a few.
Great location, near the rail station and minutes from the city centre. The room was pure luxury, comfy mattress, so a great sleep, and to top if off, the breakfast was first class - they have thought of everything! The staff were exceptional - friendly and helpful - I would definitely recommend this as a perfect place to stay in Sheffield!
Modern new hotel in the city centre. The high standard expected from a Blu Raddison Hotel.Friendly, polite staff and hardworking breakfast staff. The breakfast was good quality and large range to suit different tastes. The dining area looks good with views across the Peace Gardens.I will definitely be back to try the restaurant.
Parking was convenient and relatively cheap even without the discount. The hotel is in a reasonably good location as it is only a short walk to the city centre. The breakfast was enjoyable and cooked well.
