There was nothing I did not like about the hospital or the staff.
I ate in my bedroom.
I hope never to return but should I require any other surgery I should certainly return to the Barlborough Hospital

We opted to stay 1 night in Chesterfield as a break from driving between York and Heathrow Airport. There is nothing to visit here so we took a 30min drive to Bakewell in the Lake District. When we were looking for a place around the hotel to have our dinner, we were disappointed to note that many of the restaurants around the hotel are take-aways. At around 6 pm, we walked to the market place to see if there were restaurants open and were disappointed that all were closed except for a few pubs. There was no activity and hardly anyone walking around and the place was so quiet. We ended up having to eat at MacDonalds as only fast food restaurants - Subway, KFC, Dominos were open.

Originally from Chesterfield and it’s not what it was.
Originally from Chesterfield and it’s not what it was.
Disappointed with the half empty town centre, expensive car parking and general shabby feel.
But,… it is close to lots of pretty Derbyshire villages

The rooms were modern and clean but a little cramped.
The rooms were modern and clean but a little cramped. There was good secure separation between the hotel rooms and the hotel bars. It is very central to Chesterfield, which was fantastic.
Unfortunately the room did not have a fridge and the wifi cut out every couple of minutes.

Love Chesterfield. Such a pretty town.
Love Chesterfield. Such a pretty town. You must visit the church with the wonky steeple. We loved the market and #Coffee shop.
My husband is on a mobility scooter and the pavements were a bit wobbly!
As we were on a budget we ate at Wetherspoons where my husband enjoyed a really good craft beer and myself an excellent white wine (Villa Maria) Also we enjoyed the food there
This hotel is ideally placed as it is only a few minutes walk from the beautiful Queens Park and the cricket pitch as well as the local swimming pool and sports centre. Even closer are the historic twisted spire church and the daily market. Chesterfield is only a few miles from Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and the beauties of the Peak District.
All the staff were excellent; friendly and efficient. Our room was clean and quiet. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was modern with a great shower. The bar and restaurant were pleasant.
The staff are excellent at the Ibis in Chesterfield - they supported me to leave my case before I was able to check in as I had gotten into town a little earlier than expected.
My mum also came to meet me at the hotel and was offered use of the tea making facilities while she waited - I cannot emphasise how welcoming and professional the staff were throughout. Due to this I did not want to report the below issues but am glad to have an opportunity to do so.
spacious two bedrooms both with on suite sofa bed in lounge
televisions in bedrooms and lounge
apartment well stocked with everything we needed
microwave kettle and toaster
supermarkets and Chesterfield city centre within ten minute walk or two mins by car
really comfortable beds
