Staff very friendly. Room clean. Dinner excellent. Service at both dinner and breakfast was very good. I appreciated having a proper pot of tea at breakfast and the muesli was excellent.
The Kings Arms is an 18th Century Inn located in the picturesque village of Montacute near to the stately home Montacute House, used for filming 'Sense and Sensibility'.

We had a great dinner and breakfast the following morning. The bar/dining area is very pleasant - staff are welcoming and there are nice areas to have your dog with you without overwhelming other guests who may not have a dog.

On the outskirts of Yeovil, in scenic Somerset, the family-run Preston Hotel offers elegant rooms with free Wi-Fi. The Victorian hotel enjoys an elevated position and also has an ale bar.

It was a decent sized room, larger than a Travelodge, for example.
The Masons Arms is located in the beautiful Somerset countryside, 10 minutes’ drive from Yeovil. This charming property has a thatched roof and a stone façade, looking onto a lovely garden.

Room clean & comfortable, well thought out.
Pub had good atmosphere.
Staff helpful & friendly.
Situation excellent.
Surrounded by open Somerset countryside, this former coaching inn dates back to the 18th century and is 200 metres from the magnificent Montacute House, where the movie Sense and Sensibility was...

Very quaint English Inn. Warm welcome, comfy sofas, a fire (not necessary when we were there), board games. Yummy food including a full English breakfast.
Yeovil looks as though it has had the guts ripped out of it.
Yeovil looks as though it has had the guts ripped out of it. At the top of town there are a lot of empty and semi-derelict retail properties. The area in the middle is apparently undergoing renovation but again has a large number of empty and derelict properties, including an entire shopping mall. Out of 9 properties in Middle Street, 7 were Betting Shops or Charity shops. Early Sunday morning shows the unfortunate "dwellers" in the town centre- hardly an advert for "come and visit". This is a sad indictment on both Yeovil and society in general.
I would add however that the A&E Department at the Hospital were excellent - full marks.

Sadly, Yeovil town centre is awful.
Sadly, Yeovil town centre is awful. Around half the shops are boarded up/closed down and most of the pedestrianised area is fenced off due to works that have been "in progress" for about 4 years (according to locals). Whilst there might be pleasant areas within the town, there were none to be found right in the central shopping district.

Nice area but Yeovil was busier than I expected.
Nice area but Yeovil was busier than I expected.
Lovely country park but car parking signs were extremely hard to follow or even see / spot once in Yeovil. This could have been due to road works within the town. However, don't let this put you off visiting the country park as it is a liitle gem pratically within the centre of town.

Yeovil is fairly central in the west country and one can go in all directions from the Boho flat….very convenient. Yeovil isn’t a pretty town .
Some very good Italian restaurants and other places to eat.

Found the shopping centre a bit dull.
Found the shopping centre a bit dull. Covid has damaged the area, with many empty shops. Hilly, be prepared for a hike.
Many pubs to visit and enjoy a carvery, ploughman’s or just an ale amongst the locals.
The bedroom was decorated lovely it was very spacious with a very big bathroom. The bedroom included a microwave with plates knifes forks spoons and bowls. The hotel even has a utility room with a sink towels iron and ironing board. More toilet rolls tea coffee hot chocolate milk and sugar. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay again. Also I didn't go for breakfast but my husband did, he said the full English was delicious with plenty of choice including yogurt toast cereal juice and fruit.
A beautiful building in a delightfully quaint village, surrounded by Somerset countryside. The Montacute church stands close to the picturesque hotel which is an old inn and retains many traditional features. There is also a garden area and a restaurant where we enjoyed excellent breakfasts as well as delicious three course dinners after drinks in the comfortable bar. The staff were very friendly and efficient, making our stay perfect.
forget staying in a hotel in Yeovil stay here . The apartment is immaculate , comfortable , beautifully decorated & has every facility you need & some lovely touches like throws in baskets little bowls of sweets lovely scented soaps etc . As it was the run up to Christmas there were Christmas lights & a Christmas reef . it’s also right on the edge of the woods & yet right in town . perfect . Will stay again
We were surprised how nice Manor Hotel was when we arrived (for what we paid). It was decorated for Christmas and looked very warm and inviting, lovely bar and downstairs rooms. All the staff were so welcoming, the barman was great and the service in the restaurant excellent. We had a good meal as well. The young staff who served breakfast were good as well.
Room was nice and clean. TV was good, but the remote didn't work and once I had got undressed and into bed I din't want to get dressed again in order to go and ask for new batteries. With the room being situated away from the main hotel, there was no problem with noise, despite the hotel having a live music event that night.
I have to travel to work and stay in Yeovil quite often. The keep is my favourite hotel to stay with. The room are always very nice, the booking and checking in process are hassle free and easy. Morning staff are brilliant and the breakfasts are superb. Great location in town centre.
Staff were really helpful. I stayed in the Motel part which is attached to the hotel ergo room was on the level and ideal for those who have difficulty with stairs. Dog friendly. Yeovil is a nightmare to drive through so I suggest taxi or bus into town which is not far away.34n
I have stayed at Lanes a few times. Different Rooms each time and happy each time.
For Hotels around the Yeovil Area Lanes is the best for sure.
I would and do recommend it.
The staff are fantastic, very friendly and chatty.
Lovely quiet location with very friendly staff making the stay feel very homely, a full English breakfast was also the perfect way to start the day. Will definitely look to try and book this hotel again in future visits to Yeovil.
We liked the location near to Yeovil and our family who live there. We could walk into Yeovil and used other footpaths. The owners were friendly and helpful when we did have issues with the facilities.
Just a short walk to town centre, exceptional spacious and very nicely appointment, i believe it has just been redecorated, but I can see no reason why the apartment was immaculate
Very comfortable bed, clean room. Within easy walking distance of the town. Great to have a vegan breakfast. Nice to not be a generic room like many modern hotels.
Lovely place to stay, comfy, very well done out with everything you need. One of the best I’ve stayed in for the price in Yeovil. Wish I’d found it sooner!
