Kastoria on the lake is very scenic.
Kastoria on the lake is very scenic. If you want to see a different view of Greeece away from the intensity of Athens I would recommend visiting Kastoria. We also took the opportunity to visit Korce, Albania which we thoroughly enjoyed.Guest review byPaulUnited States - 10.0

It's a nice little town on the side of a hill of more than 40.000 people with a nice town center and walkway and a very serious parking problem. Great stores with nice food and friendly locals. They say it's great on Halloween.. I will visit again thenGuest review byTeoGreece - 10.0

the walk along the river was gorgeous with the restaurants and coffee shops. There is also the 'market" where you can get fresh fruit, vegetables, herbs, and many household items, as well as clothing, every Wednesday and Saturday. So glad I got to go. The archeological site was great, as well as the museum.Guest review byPCanada - 6.0

City of Grevena is at a 10-15 mins walk from Hotl Milionis, through woods (with paved path) then long the road. Small city with all you need for a traveller in transit. Not really the classic "Greek touristic destination" though.Guest review byGREGORYFrance - 10.0
A very interesting place with a rich history.
A very interesting place with a rich history. Just walking around and taking in the view is already great (find streets or paths on the edge of town), but the museums are really worth seeing too, even for people who don't do museums. The Poulko Mansion, for example, is a beautiful illustration of merchant life in the 18th century.Guest review byAncaRomania - 10.0

During the summer it's a little cooler up there and it is very close to a lot of the local Vileges if you wish to go and see them you can drive or as we did with a taxi. It's about the same as hiring a car. So it's up to you . There a Restorants in Nymtheio if you need to go out for lunch or dinner and view is fantastic.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Great little small town in central Greece - my husband's village not far from there. Beautiful part of Greece - great starting point for day trips into the magnificient surrounding area (Edessa, Meteora etc.). Visiting the Saturday Bazaar (greek version of our farmer's market) is a must - it's just so neat and the prices of fresh veggies and fruit - unbelievable. The town goes back to the 15th century - lots of history trying to get rid of the Turkish occupation - nice little museum for local culture.Guest review byAthanasiosCanada - 10.0

This town is a rare jewel. Nestled in the hills at 1350 m. It’s a sort of Brigadoon. You feel like you’ve stepped into another, gentler world. Cobble streets, flower boxes and elegant homes surrounded by forested hills.Guest review byRobertItaly - 10.0

It has been some 6-7 years from my last visit at kastoria where I visited the area around the city (nymphaion, prespes etc) but i neglected the city per se this time i focused there and i discovered little gems such as the byzantine museum, the folklore museum aprt from the obvious (visiting the wonderful renovated local architecture mansions, the byzantine churches such as mavriotissa or koumpelidiki) and the captivating old Doltso quarter) still in aweGuest review byNIKOLAOSGreece
