This was a true bed & breakfast or what they call a “maison d’hôte” in France. Typically they are a couple of bedrooms and bathroom in someone’s home. In this case the someone were our amazing hosts Claude and Nicole (more on them to follow). And the home is a 19th century farm house on a beautiful plot of land in the tiny village of Couffy nestled in the picturesque Loire Valley. The rooms are comfy and rustic. The high light of the property is the garden, complete with its own 19th century outdoor oven and chicken coup. In addition if you have kids, they will be able to enjoy the many amenities set up in the garden for their entertainment! But the real star of the Pause Couffy are the amazing hosts Claude and Nicole. They don’t speak much English but they provided an incredible breakfast spread each morning with fresh pastries, bread and fruits. They were more than gracious in sharing their home and region with us. Their home serves as an authentic base to explore the region! We would gladly go back.
