The Hotel Gistola deserves its 5 stars! How to get there: Mestia is approx. 210 km from the airport in Kutaisi. There are numerous ways to get there by minibus. We chose the convenient option and had the hotel driver pick us up at the airport; travel time 5-6 hours depending on the season. The airport shuttle was very well organized. This applies to all communication in the run-up to the trip. Questions are answered quickly. The staff speak (and write) English. The location in Mestia: The hotel is on the edge of the town, just 5-10 minutes' walk to the center. If you don't feel like walking after long hikes or skiing days, the hotel offers a free transfer to the center. Trips into the mountains or to the Tetnuldi ski area can be organized. The rooms: Either with a view of the mountains or the village with its towers (all rooms with balcony). The rooms are newly furnished and very spacious. This also applies to the bathroom. The beds are of super quality and large. Comfortable armchairs in the room, plus a table. The housekeeping crew is simply great; towels are changed daily. In terms of cleanliness, there really isn't the slightest complaint. The hotel has a large pool (free of charge) and a private sauna (for a fee). Both facilities are very spacious and we highly recommend using them. The staff at reception (and some in the restaurant) speak fluent English. Requests are fulfilled gladly and in a friendly manner; the atmosphere in the hotel could not be better. The breakfast is very varied and absolutely meets European standards. Exception: Caviar is rather rare here in Germany (even in good hotels). The moderately priced restaurant is characterized by a large selection of international and local dishes. Here too, 5 stars! We were in Mestia at the end of the winter season (end of March).

Perfect for hikers and families. The facilities (rooms, showers, etc.) are cozy and homey. The location is perfect - right on the river and center of the lovely village. The balcony has great views. Helped us with everything needed to go to the great Tobavarchkhili Lakes trek. Additional sightseeing around Mukhuri with Luka and Uta was fun and beautiful. The food Shorena has cooked (and invented) was delicious. Best hospitality we have ever experienced!! Next time we will definitely return with the children. XOSTEL lUKA heeft uitzicht op de bergen, en biedt accommodatie met gratis fietsen, een terras en een bar, op 18 km van Museum voor Geschiedenis en Etnografie. Really nice staff, they even offered us food, wine and chacha for free. Nice familiar atmosphere, authentic experience.

Paliani Hotel heeft een gedeelde lounge, een terras, een restaurant en een bar in Mestia. Dit hotel met 4 sterren biedt een conciërgedienst en een excursiebalie. Everything! The location is stunning. From our room we could see the mountains and river. The rooms were light clean spacious and nicely decorated. The best bit of all were the staff Mariam and Nana - never in all our travels have we met two more helpful and kind people. When our hire car broke down they arranged a taxi for us and did all they could to assist us at all hours of the day. They also translated and assisted with the hire company. We genuinely felt they cared about our family and their hospitality will be remembered for years to come. We loved them and the hotel.

Hotel Mountain Mestia wordt omgeven door het Kaukasus-gebergte in Georgië en ligt in Mestia, dat op de werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO staat. First of all, it appeared that the car rented by us showed fuel level incorrectly, and we ran out it 20km prior reaching Mestia. We phoned the hotel with our problem - and they came to rescue us bringing 20 liters canister of petrol! We also travelled with our dog and had no issues staying with her in the hotel. Then, we really enjoyed the fire place with swing chairs surrounding it. It was a really pleasant experience talking to friends in the evening and at night, in front of the fire. So, I'd really prefer to stay here next time I visit Svaneti.
