very warm cosy property with xtremely friendly staff

A complete home from home. Such a cosy cottage and great location. Some lovely walks from the cottage into the beautiful countryside. Askrigg also has 3 great pubs. We had an amazing Sunday Lunch in the Middle House... one I will be dreaming of for years to come! Also good live music in the King's Head. Not far from Hawes which has some lovely boutique shops, and can't miss going to the Wensleydale Creamery, where you can sample their cheeses before you buy! Would definitely recommend this cottage and one we would go back to stay in.

Brook House is located in the heart of Askrigg making it ideal for the three pubs, the general store and the cafe. It has everything you need to make your stay special, from a welcome basket to wonderfully plump and soft towels. Brook House is an absolute gem in a beautiful village.

The fact that it was the house used for the fantastic show All Creatures Great and Small. I came here for sentimental reasons, to celebrate my 55th birthday and see the house of my favorite show. I loved everything about the house! Clean, warm, all the facilities you needed although I did not use half of them, fantastic bed and bathtub- shower too- and the most attentive staff who helped me get in when I arrived late in the evening and lost the lock box code! Chelsea could not have been nicer as well as her colleague Terry, who gave me a great birthday treat- she knows what I am talking about! Thank you for the experience for someone that waited 47 years to visit the Skeldale House!

It was such a quiet, comfortable and homely property.

The cottage is beautiful and quaint! So cosy and inviting, it was a pleasure to stay here over Christmas, we honestly loved it! Sarah and Damian decorated the cottage for Christmas, added little treats for our stay, and made it feel like a home from home.. but better! It was exceptionally clean, had everything you needed, no worries about leaving anything at home, the cottage thought of it all! There were some previous reviews about the bed being uncomfortable, but there's a new mattress, and I can confirm we slept like babies! The open fire was amazing, cosying up on an evening after a lovely walk, throwing some wood on the fire was a dream! The complimentary starter pack provided was a nice touch too! The village of Askrigg is postcard beautiful, and Lavender Cottage absolutely added to that charm! Thank you again for having us!

Amazing hotel and staff, located in the countryside, surounded by sheeps, we felt at home, staff is amazingly welcoming and organized, the atmosphere is great, the common areas very well maintained, we loved everything!

We had a lovely big room with a big bathroom and two windows. Beds were good, too. The food was simply delicious. You have a great choice of various breakfast dishes. In the evenings we always ate there and worked our way through the menu. All the dishes were outstanding and we really enjoyed everything. Especially the pies were truly original and so good! Will definitely call again when in the area.

Great traditional pub, excellent staff, top food, can’t fault it at all, will be back!

I worked in this pub almost 50 years ago and it is hardly changed,apart from upgraded public rooms and bathrooms! Wonderful situation and views.friendly staff.

What an amazing place, simply stunning.  In 10 years of Airbnb and holiday cottages, the best by far.  There has always been something, blunt cheap kitchen knives, mold in the corner of a bathroom, knackered grouting, crap pans etc. Last place had an entire cupboard full of 70s catering pans. This cottage has comfy couches, modern TV, awesome beds and sumptuous bedding. Lovely decoration and old cottage features.  Really well equipped kitchen, they have covered everything.  It's equally the little things that set the standard, how exciting to get a frying pan with no Teflon flaking off and a whole block of sharp knives - being able to slice bread in a straight line🤣 Peaceful, quiet and home from home.  For the 1st time renting a place, finally get perfection😁
