This is a wonderfully light and spacious first floor apartment with views down Lanchester High Street. It’s quiet, clean and comfortable. Great for friends or family with 2 double beds in one large room and the other a double en-suite. Living/kitchen area stylish and plenty of seating. Highly recommended.

This was a great little English inn and the owners, Sonia and Ian were probably the best hosts that i have ever come across. They could not do enough to help us when they found out that we had booked the wrong accommodation in the wrong place. We only stayed one night but the food and our room where excellent..

A stunning barn conversion finished to an exceptionally high standard, with thoughtful touches throughout that make it feel truly like a home away from home. As a family, we couldn't fault a single thing. We visited primarily to explore Beamish Museum and the surrounding area — and the location proved just as impressive as the property itself. The museum is within walking distance, which was a real bonus. Just opposite, we discovered a wonderful pub: great beer, delicious food, and an outdoor play area that kept the kids thoroughly entertained. The hosts were warm and welcoming, and their care and attention is evident in every detail of the space. We'd recommend this property without hesitation and have absolutely no doubt we'll be returning. A huge well done to the hosts for creating somewhere so special.

A very well situated property on our visit to the North from Suffolk. It was clean and tidy, the room was very comfortable and had a nice selection of items in the room i.e. tea, coffee, iron etc. The host was lovely and cooked an excellent breakfast. There was a good selection for breakfast including cold items. We would happily stay again

Second time I’ve stayed here, and if I’m in the area again I would! Comfy spacious room, delicious breakfast, and good chat with other guests. Went to the Italian in the village for dinner and would recommend.

Lovely quiet location, close to Durham and within easy driving distance of Newcastle/Gateshead. Beautifully clean, modern furnishings and well equipped kitchen. We were travelling as a family and so found it really useful to have the washing machine and iron. Enjoyed the tea, coffee and biscuits that had been set out in the kitchen. We enjoyed staying here and would stay here again if coming back to this area.

We stayed here for three nights, the room was warm and spacious and the bed extremely comfortable. We also had dinner in the pub every night and loved the home cooking, with plenty of choice on the menu as well as daily specials. Also, if you enjoy a good full English, you won't be disappointed!

I had the most comfortable bed and had a long bath with plenty of hot water and thick white towels. Breakfast was delicious, lots of choice and I had smked salmon and scrambled eggs. Well behaved Spaniels accompanied me on a walk round the extensive grounds. It was very quiet, I was not aware that there were others staying at the property.

We were all bowled over by this beautiful place - and what a stunning location. Christine was so welcoming and helpful. The rooms were out of this world, the beds extremely comfortable, the food delicious, the service exceptional.. We can't praise our stay enough and will definitely be going back. We will be recommending Burnhopeside Hall to all of our friends. A huge thank you to Christine from Patricia, Cliff, Caron and Michael
