The common area is huge and super clean. I often saw the staff cleaning places that were already spotless. All the staff members were extremely friendly and professional. Even those I met for the first time knew my travel plans and gave me helpful reminders. This is definitely the best hostel experience I’ve ever had in all my travels. Highly recommended!

Tugu Malang is, without doubt, my most favourite hotel in the world. The service was exemplary, the room superb, the restaurants were affordable, the complementary afternoon tea was wonderful, breakfasts were generous, the pool was perfect, fresh flower arrangements were replenished each day and the ambiance was extraordinary. I can’t recommend The Tugu enough. Well located, close to the train station, CBD and local attractions….. I could continue but you probably have the picture by now…. Perfection.

Great social hostel!! Whatsapp chat with organized activities, chill common area, and super friendly staff. I booked my Bromo sunrise hike through the hostel and so glad I did - it was cheaper than other options I saw and I booked the night of. Bromo National Park was closed by wildfires when I went but we still went to the viewpoint over the volcano which was spectacular- one of my favorite experiences ever. They also have Kawah Ijen and Tumpak Sewu tours. Good location and easy Grab bike to anywhere in the city.

I spent 3 nights at Zzz Hostel Malang and I am extremely satisfied with my stay. Everything was super neat and clean, and the facilities are top-notch. I also really liked that the hostel is set back from the main road, so you don't hear much traffic noise at all and can get a great night's sleep. It was also super nice that I received a WhatsApp message right after booking, making everything clear and smooth from the start. A special thanks to Reggy, Lia, and Abi for your wonderful hospitality during my stay—you guys were amazing! Top hostel, would definitely stay here again!

Had such a great stay here! The place is super cozy, comfortable, and really feels like home. The room was clean, and all the facilities were complete, so everything I needed was available. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Special shoutout to Toriq for being so kind and helpful! He's currently learning English, and it was really nice chatting with him. Keep it up, Toriq! 😊 The front office service was also superb—fast, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. They made the whole check-in and check-out process smooth and hassle-free. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxing place to stay! ❤️🏡✨

We stayed in this cute hostel on the very first day of our anniversary indonesia tour. Shelter Hostel made our anniversary night truly special!! They arranged the cutest decor in our room for free! As it was our 5th year anniversary, they decorated with 5 beautiful candles. How thoughtful is that! I really loved their aesthetic, interior design, hostel atmosphere. The toilet and amenities were super clean. They even arranged a very check out without any hastle. I highly recommend this hostel.
