Everything at Blackhill Woods was very clean and plush. Simon was a wonderful host, who was attentive but not intrusive. The location is peaceful, in a quiet rural setting, though not far from the quaint village of Abbeyleix or the spectular ruins at the Rock of Dunamase. Breakfast was delicious, as a welcome healthy alternative to the pervasive meat-heavy Irish morning feasts. I highly recommend the Blackhill Woods Retreat.

The 3-star Abbeyleix Manor Hotel offers a relaxing and ideal base to explore the hidden beauties of County Laois and the Midlands of Ireland.
