Amazing view! Conveniently located close to the main street, but still felt serene and quiet. I would recommend staying at least 3 nights so you’d also have time to just enjoy the comfort of the accommodation with its beautiful views of the mountain and wildlife. Having a mini fridge in the room was a great touch! The hosts were very kind and helpful, even dropped me off at the bus station after checking out, as the uphill road to leave the accommodation is quite steep.

Loved our stay!!! The hosts are such beautiful people. Ensured our stay was comfortable and cooked delicious meals. They also organised activities around Ella for us to go to. Drove us around in their tuktuk. The room itself is phenomenal. Overlooking the nine arch bridge. Very quiet and beautiful. Highly recommend staying here. Beautiful home and beautiful people!! We were very sad to leave

We booked this place in the late evening and host quickly contact with us to confirm and give all information and even come to the road to show us the way to the place and help us with luggage as we were need to go up, so even before we come inside we were feeling that he care about us that already improved our mood after long drive. When we come inside he provide us tea with biscuits as a welcome drink. The room were pretty big and have even table and chairs. Also kettle and cups to do the tea was there for us. Everything was clean. Nights at Ella could be cold but here 2 soft blankets were provided to help. In the morning our host provided nice traditional breakfast that we enjoyed eatting looking at the breath-taking view (at night and in the morninqg it was very beautiful to see). So I can recommend this place a lot as we were feeling surrounded by care on every step here and we are really grateful for that

It was truly incredible. Ella is a lovely place… but the city is noisy and a little overbearing. Staying at Fern hill is tranquil and the best of what all travellers who come to Ella are about- the views!! The brothers who run this place are the best… they will do anything for you… and are always around for a tuktuk drive to where you want to go.. and cheaper than tuktuks in Ella. The food was amazing. As was the breakfast too. There is no way you will be disappointed with staying here. It was beyond our expectations. Thankyou so so much.

We really enjoyed our stay at Mountain shack. Comfortable and clean rooms, super friendly and helpful family. They made us big delicious breakfasts each morning at our preferred time, and helped us with getting tuk tuk rides. It’s about a 20 minute walk to the towns Main Street if you take the little shortcut that goes up to the train station up from the road. We didn’t mind the walk as the homestay was in such a nice scenic area and away from the noise of the town.
