Accommodation in Ponta do Sol

The hotel was a perfect retreat after 3 nights in Funchal’s capital. Breakfasts were an absolute dream. The location guarantees full sun, relaxation, and easy access to everything you expect from Madeira. A short walk lets you explore the nearby waterfall, take trips to surrounding towns and levadas, and even the rented bikes in Funchal were delivered directly here. Simply put: an amazing place, not to miss!

It was a beautiful building from 1930 well renovated. It has a great outdoor space quite rustic and has a swimmingpool. Next to the hotel in the garden they had a small restaurant with good regional dishes. They also have good wines with it. Nicely prepaired and cosy. Nice staff. Here you will also have your breakfast inside or outside. Beautiful view. Parking places at the hotel and next to the hotel. Thanks for the good experience!

The location of the villa is absolutely great. Close to the beach, restaurants, supermarket and all the island attractions (by car). The accommodation is well equipped with everything a family of 12 people and 3 generations could need. Astonishing views of the sea and the mountains.

Room, staff, atmosphere. We loved it all. It totally matched the photos of the listing we booked. I can calmly say it exceeded our expectations. The location is so quiet and chill, that we finally had time to slow down. Also the cook prepared us the best poncha we had in Madeira. Absolutely recommend.

A great base for exploring the southwestern part of the island. The apartment is new and very pleasant. Nicely finished with excellent amenities. The bed is large and very comfortable. Great shower. Parking available. One small downside is that it's located by a main road, which is very busy. It's hard to sit on the balcony and enjoy the view due to the noise. However, at night it's quiet, as the bedroom is on the opposite side of the road.

We enjoyed our stay in the 3-bedroom apartment, it was spacious, clean, very well equipped. Beautiful view from all balconies, and even from the swimming pool! Super nice staff was providing us with fruit and bread every other day! Thank you for your hospitality!!!

Very nice place to stay, especially if you have a car. The room was comfortable, clean and well maintained, with a beautiful view. The location is great for exploring Madeira by car. The host was extremely kind, welcoming and always willing to help. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back. Highly recommended!

Wonderful location, close to cafes,bars, beach, easy drive to visit Funchal, easy to get to some of the Levada walks too. The view from the villa is beautiful, perfect for sunsets! We loved it and communication with Rita was perfect!

We had a fantastic stay at Casa Coelho. Carlos is an amazing host – very friendly and always helpful. He gave us many valuable recommendations for local restaurants and places to visit, which made our trip even better. The house is in one of the best locations in Ponta do Sol. From the house and terrace you can enjoy almost 360° views of the town and the ocean. Mornings were perfect for coffee in the warm sunshine, and evenings were just as beautiful with stunning views over the town. We also noticed that when it was cloudy elsewhere on the island, the sun was often shining in Ponta do Sol. The house itself is wonderful – spacious, very comfortable and extremely well equipped. The kitchen has everything you might need, and the laundry room is a big plus for longer stays. Everything is thoughtfully prepared, and you immediately feel at home. Honestly, we didn’t want to leave. We would absolutely stay here again and hope to come back soon!

It was fully equipped and in a wonderful location close to the ocean

During our stay at Encanto do Sol in Madeira, Juan and Catia, our wonderful hosts, made our experience truly exceptional. Their warmth and hospitality were evident in every aspect of our stay. Notably, Juan's gesture of allowing us to freely pick fruits and vegetables from their garden, along with the delight of collecting freshly laid eggs from their chickens, added an extra layer of charm to our visit. The house itself, Encanto do Sol, stands out as one of the most beautiful places we've ever had the pleasure of staying in. However, what truly took our breath away was the panoramic view of the entire bay. Waking up to such a breathtaking sight every morning was a privilege, and we often found ourselves savoring aperitifs on the terrace, surrounded by the lush beauty of the garden. Speaking of the garden, it's a magical place in its own right. From the banana grove to the various other plants, it added to the overall enchantment of the property. It's a serene oasis where you can unwind and connect with nature. One of the practical advantages of Encanto do Sol is its convenient location. The charming village and the beautiful beach are just a 10-minute stroll away. This accessibility made our daily explorations effortless, yet we were always excited to return to the comfort of Encanto do Sol at the end of the day. During our stay, we used the house as our base to explore the entire island, and it proved to be an excellent choice. Should we have the opportunity to return to Madeira, there's no doubt in our minds that we would choose Encanto do Sol again. It's a place that captures the essence of Madeira's beauty and hospitality. Lastly, it's worth mentioning that the house is equipped with everything you could possibly need for a pleasant stay. From well-appointed rooms to a fully equipped kitchen, it's a home away from home.

The apartment was perfect for us as a family of four, large, well-equipped with two bathrooms (one with a bathtub!) and three bedrooms. It is perfectly located two minutes from the beach at Ponta do Sol. The terrace has sun from the moment the sun rises in the city until it sets and has a beautiful view over the ocean. There's a grocery store and cafe adjacent to a gas station five minutes away that is perfect for groceries, or for getting a quick (and very cheap) coffee and baked goods. There are two closed down tunnels three minutes away from the apartment where you can park a car for free; we stayed in the apartment for a week and never had troubles finding an available parking spot.
