Accommodation in Ponta do Sol

The hotel was a perfect retreat after 3 nights in Funchal’s capital. Breakfasts were an absolute dream. The location guarantees full sun, relaxation, and easy access to everything you expect from Madeira. A short walk lets you explore the nearby waterfall, take trips to surrounding towns and levadas, and even the rented bikes in Funchal were delivered directly here. Simply put: an amazing place, not to miss!

The hotel itself is spectacular but the staff are what make this place really special. Nicole on reception was so incredibly helpful and the restaurant staff were superb. Excellent food and facilities and will be dreaming of that view for a while. Like luxury hotels used to be in ‘the good old days’.

It was our eighth stay on Madeira Island and the best accommodation so far. A great renovated house, we were shown everything in detail and we also learned a lot about the history of the house. Veronica and her family were the best hosts, providing us with fresh fruit. You can expect a very clean accommodation there, surrounded by bananas, with a private parking lot and plenty of space to relax. Simply a little oasis with a sea view, the sound of the sea and lots of privacy. We will definitely book the house again on our next vacation!

Lovely villa with nice pool. We stayed 3 generations grandparents i master suite. + 2 families divided between other rooms (11 persons total). The house was perfect for this!

An amazing very special place in nature with sounds of ocean, beautiful and very tasty bio fruit and vegetable farm (possibly to buy), also very tasty breakfast in a restaurant next on the coastline. Very quiet area with easy aces to town by free cable car and car. It was very exciting.

The location is amazingly located with beautiful views. For the rainy days it is super comfy to just hangout in the beautiful house and it’s spacious living room. The fact is has to be absolutely highlighted!! The breakfast and dinner ist outstanding quality and for the prices just incomparable. The stuff is super nice and supportive. A perfect hide away experience! Thank you!

Very nice place to stay, especially if you have a car. The room was comfortable, clean and well maintained, with a beautiful view. The location is great for exploring Madeira by car. The host was extremely kind, welcoming and always willing to help. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back. Highly recommended!

Attention to details (baby chair available and a good quality one, not the basic plastic), there were fruits , egg, milk, and bread once on the first day (we stayed there for 6 days) it covered 4 days which was nice, nice garden, the property was very clean (ants are normal on Madeira sometimes but you have to put food away and it’s good) , handmixer was available which is good for baby food making, the mattress in the baby bed was nice (not too thin) , little teddy bear was for the baby in the bed :)

The apartment is great. It has all the amenities and is fully equipped. It has a beautiful view from the balcony. There is a supermarket and bus stops nearby

Wonderful location, close to cafes,bars, beach, easy drive to visit Funchal, easy to get to some of the Levada walks too. The view from the villa is beautiful, perfect for sunsets! We loved it and communication with Rita was perfect!

We had a fantastic stay at Casa Coelho. Carlos is an amazing host – very friendly and always helpful. He gave us many valuable recommendations for local restaurants and places to visit, which made our trip even better. The house is in one of the best locations in Ponta do Sol. From the house and terrace you can enjoy almost 360° views of the town and the ocean. Mornings were perfect for coffee in the warm sunshine, and evenings were just as beautiful with stunning views over the town. We also noticed that when it was cloudy elsewhere on the island, the sun was often shining in Ponta do Sol. The house itself is wonderful – spacious, very comfortable and extremely well equipped. The kitchen has everything you might need, and the laundry room is a big plus for longer stays. Everything is thoughtfully prepared, and you immediately feel at home. Honestly, we didn’t want to leave. We would absolutely stay here again and hope to come back soon!

It is wonderfully located and probably one of the best rental properties for the a group of 7-8 in Ponta Do Sol.

Beautiful, calm place with garden full of banana trees, we were allowed to eat grapes and fresh eggs from hens 🙂...amazing view from terrace. There were always free place for parking on the street. Very kind and helpful owners. Perfectly equiped kitchen and all apartment.

The apartment was perfect for us as a family of four, large, well-equipped with two bathrooms (one with a bathtub!) and three bedrooms. It is perfectly located two minutes from the beach at Ponta do Sol. The terrace has sun from the moment the sun rises in the city until it sets and has a beautiful view over the ocean. There's a grocery store and cafe adjacent to a gas station five minutes away that is perfect for groceries, or for getting a quick (and very cheap) coffee and baked goods. There are two closed down tunnels three minutes away from the apartment where you can park a car for free; we stayed in the apartment for a week and never had troubles finding an available parking spot.

This villa is just amazing. The location and views are breath-taking , beautiful. Facilities, utensils etc in the kitchen , were plentiful. There literally is nothing you would wish for. The big bowl of fresh fruit, with locally grown bananas kept us supplied all week and was greatly appreciated. Carlos met us and was at hand to guide us with the last bit of directions, so stress free.
