GREAT Location near the tropical forest preserves and the Sarapiqui River, right near the Best Chocolate Farm, where we also took a night hike, and just down the road from Aventuras del Sarapiqui (excellent whitewater rafting). It's a private house off the main road and I was worried about dogs barking as mentioned in some other reviews, but it was not a problem at all. It's a split level with two separate sleeping spaces, king bed in upstairs room and queen bed in the downstairs room, each having their own bathroom with showers. The main kitchen/dining area was great for preparing easy meals: rice and beans for dinners and fried egg sandwiches for breakfast. And best of all is our host, Maria who has been SO accommodating and friendly. We just message each other through WhatsApp (I use Google Translate to convert from her Spanish to my English). It's not a luxury hotel but instead a very artistically decorated two bedroom apartment and I highly recommend.

Hosts reached out via What'sApp. I was greeted on arrival with keys and a tour of the space. The unit was the size of a condo and views of the farm and volcano were beautiful. Parking was on site and safe; the property is gated. The property is well located to enjoy area activities, and it makes an excellent stopover on the way to La Fortuna. The owner is beyond generous with his time and knowledge of the area. Breakfast was homemade and brought to my door.

Nice, clean rooms, well-equipped common kitchen, and absolutely helpful hosts. Good location, close to airport and perfect for one-day trip locations from San Jose, safe surroundings.

Eco Guest House - Sarapiquí 1 er staðsett í Sarapiquí, í innan við 35 km fjarlægð frá La Paz-fossinum og 38 km frá Catarata Tesoro Escondido. Gististaðurinn er með garð. This "Guest House" is huge. A family of 4+ could easily move in here and live comfortably. The back decks are beautiful to just sit and watch the jungle. It is a little way down the road from the city, which means it is quiet and very laid back. I had both a breakfast and a dinner while at the guest house. Both were great portions with a lot of variety, tasty, and well worth the money. Unfortunately, my schedule and Wendy's schedule didn't align for her bird tour. There was lots of flora and fauna to explore. My personal sightings included Toucans and a Morpha butterfly. I'm willing to bet that there was a lot I missed that Wendy could have found and shared!

Modern apartment was comfortable and suitable for simple meal preparation. A small grocery store is approximately a block away and has basic items for snacks, or a light meal. The neighborhood is safe for walking. Uber was convenient to access restaurants or Britt coffee. One morning our hostess prepared an excellent breakfast for an additional charge. We loved the grounds and were very happy that we chose this accommodation rather than a standard hotel.
