Imagine being cut away from the world, for all the good reasons. Or being stranded on Robinson Crusoe's island, but with the luxury of French cuisine and sublime, thatched roof bungalows. To boot, the weather was just clement enough to award for some great lagoon swimming, along with the pelicans. There's heaps of things to do and see around, but I doubt that you will wish to leave the place for long. Bring your next favorite book along or borrow from the lodge's library. What makes the place extra special is the staff, to begin with the French owners. Thank you, Babakar and Khassim, for some great chats and insights into Senegalese society, Jean Baptiste, Awa and Yvonne for graciously serving the meals and drinks, Marie and Agnes for the local craftsmanship, Ass for deftly steering the pirogue. I'm sure I forgot names here, but there was not one person in the staff for which anything was too much to ask. I will always remember the giant baobab and those soft, enchanted nights. Go alone or bring someone special, if you do. I know I will next time.

Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony, Dieynaba b&b is set in Ndangane. This bed and breakfast has a garden. The bed and breakfast is fitted with a flat-screen TV.

Auberge LE DJEMBE has a garden, a private beach area and a sun terrace with swimming pool and buffet breakfast in Joal-Fadiout. Nice host. Effort to make you feel at home.

Mbin Maak er bar á staðnum. du Saloum er staðsett í Mar Lodj. Gistirýmið er með verönd og útsýni yfir ána. Öll herbergin eru með verönd með útsýni yfir garðinn. Good location not too far from the airport. The host is doing everything to make it a nice stay for her guests. Really familial atmosphere. Nice to have contact with the other guest, to have breakfast and if requested diner all together. They have different excursions to offer. Large bedroom together with own bathroom and toilet. We really had a great stay and will for sure book again this accommodation if we go to Senegal.

I booked Maison Fimela after travelling in Senegal for two weeks, wanting to end the trip by visiting the UNESCO listed Saloum Delta. I’m very glad I did. This was the best accommodation I stayed in, with the best food and hospitality of the entire trip. The place feels like an oasis for birdwatching, and I especially enjoyed meditating and listening to the birdsongs. Nature focused travellers will love it, and the Saloum Delta itself is not to be missed (although I saw more birds in the lagoon in front of the hotel than during my delta excursion) Chloé was very helpful in organising my excursions and arranging a taxi to the airport. I have no complaints at all and was very happy with my stay.

Located on the island of Mar Lodj, off the main land of Iles du saloum. The property provides a serene, tranquil and peaceful environment. Host and owner Emmanuel was extremely helpful and knowledgeable to best navigate the surroundings.

Campement Houtttü er nýlega enduruppgert gistiheimili sem býður upp á gistirými í Ndangane. Gestir geta notið garðútsýnis. The property is located at the edge of Ndangane. Because there are no other properties between theirs and the Sine-Saloum Delta we noticed more wild birds here than anywhere else in Ndangane. The accomodation is exceptional and our room was lovely - great shower as well. It's about a 10 minute walk to the Main Street / jetty. We must not forget the most important person, Marie-Augustine. We had read about this lady in other reviews and they were correct. What a lovely, kind person. Nothing is too much trouble. We asked if we could meet a local family and Marie-Augustine organised this. We learnt more about local life and had a meal with the family. What a fantastic day. If we ever venture here again we wouldn't stay anywhere else. Last but not least Vincent & Nicolas also made us feel welcome at Campement Houefa.

A little piece of heaven, just for us and the ocean (literally at our feet)! - Eleonore truly is a gem! She has answers for everything! She helped us with any question we had (Taxis to the airport, Guides, Restaurants, etc.) - We had the pleasure of meeting Céline & Laurent (owners of Case Beach)! It made our experience even more precious as we learned more about Case Beach! - Pictures will never do justice to how peaceful and beautiful it was on the studio's porch!
