Situated at the base of the wild Tsitsikamma Mountains, The Fernery overlooks an impressive 30-metre waterfall in the Sanddrift River gorge. Fernery Lodge is in an absolutely beautiful location, perched on a cliff with breathtaking views over the ocean. We stayed in one of the chalets and loved it — everything is wooden and beautifully designed, giving it a super cozy and unique feel. The chalet was very spacious and well-equipped, with a lovely bath and two showers, which was a great touch. The pool area is really nice, and the property has several hot tubs spread around, perfect to enjoy both during the day and in the evening. The whole atmosphere felt romantic, peaceful, and genuinely special.

Garden Route Game Lodge is located near Albertinia, overlooking the Langeberg Mountain Range. It is surrounded by lush vegetation and various animals can often be seen. When you arrive, you get greeted immediately, and staff would help you with your luggage to the room. The rooms are all beautiful, and the drives are fantastic. I was very happy about how mindful our guide (Cathy) was towards the animals (If there were other cars near a certain animal, we would try to come back later. She kept good distances), and how knowledgeable she is. She tried to really find all the animals (except leopard, as they would be exceptional to find). I would really recommend staying 2 nights, so you have enough game drives to also go and see the giraffes (they live further away in the reserve). The dinner is fantastic, the breakfast is fantastic, and the morning coffee with a view of the elephants really ties everything together (they also live in the big reserve, but tend to come into view in the morning). The staff is all really nice, and the spa treatments are not too expensive.

Nestled at the eastern head of Knysna, this luxurious, pet-friendly hotel boasts a championship golf course, a restaurant and a spa. Free WiFi is provided. Breakfast was fantastic and appetising, the staff was so helpful and the environment was the best 👌

We stayed one night at this lovely hotel in Knysna, owned by a super friendly Dutch couple who made us feel very welcome. Our room was beautiful, with a terrace and a wonderful view over Knysna. The hotel offers private parking for guests, which was very convenient. Breakfast was excellent, with a clear focus on healthy options and the possibility to order some dishes à la carte. A great place to stay—warm hospitality, stunning views, and delicious food. Highly recommended!

Aneta and Japie are such wonderful people and truly made it feel like home!
