Hacienda el Castillo is strategically located close to Pasto City, making this beautiful place easily accessible. You can call a cab or just ride the local bus for less than a dollar. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but there is one located right at the front of the property that opens during the weekend. The hotel owner also gives you information about where to order food from the best restaurants in Pasto and have it delivered to you.
The landscape is breathtaking. There is a cascade in the property. You can also go for hikes to some thermales located nearby. In the morning, you can see how cows are milked.
The owner and Bibiana were very welcoming, making you feel at home. They shared hot chocolate with cuajada, a homemade cheese, with us at the foot of the chimmeny.

The hotel is clean and comfortable with very nice and helpful staff. It is located in a family neighborhood away from the city center (so it is quieter), but Pasto is small city, so you can get around easily by taxi.

The location is great, right in the center of town near several historic churches and the Gold Museum. They have security guards and cameras, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The restaurant is great too and a good value. I will stay here again next time I’m in Pasto.

I went to don pollo and paid first, badrooms were disgusting and the food came with roches. we left leaving the food served on the table.

Traffic in the city is very heavy, bordering on chaotic. Taxis are recommended by this traveller. I would never try to drive there.
You must know Spanish, or you will be lost. A good translator app is helpful. A very nice restaurant is the Catedral Cafe, near the beautiful San Juan de Pasto Cathedral. We also enjoyed the Casona Taminango historical museum and day trips to the amazing Sanctuary of Las Lajas and the Laguna de la Cocha, where we took a boat excursion to the Isla La Corota and had the best trout ever at the Rancho Grande Restaurant.

It is a lovely city to connect with nature.
It is a lovely city to connect with nature. Very clean has great public transportation. Best part is the people! They are friendly and helpful. There are lots of places to visit! Laguna de la Cocha, La cascada y Basílica de Sandoval, the Waterfalls hot springs! However Maragato Fall has no access! Is no longer available to public but it is on google maps as a must see.
