Hotels near Altenburg/Nobitz Airport (AOC), Altenburg

We happened to stay in a "5-Star" hotel the same week, and everything about Hotel Zur Burg was far superior! The staff was very professional and kind and went above and beyond to accommodate and assist us. The room was perhaps the cleanest I've ever stayed in, and definitely the most charming. (I will never forget awaking in the "Bauernzimmer" posterbed to the sound of bird chatter and a real cuckoo bird--it was like being in a fairytale!) The views are lovely and the locale soothingly quaint for a nice walk (there's a little playground across the street for kids, too). Parking is convenient. And the food and patio dining experience exceeded all expectations--superb! And homemade bread included in the generous breakfast buffet. This place is one of the best kept secrets in Germany. I can't wait to go back someday and bring the rest of my family.

Super nice apartment with the cutest kitchen and a sitting room with a good view of the castle and church towers. Everything looked brand new. There was plenty of room. The staff was also very helpful and nice. The breakfast was delicious.

The hotel was located right across from the Altenburg train station which meant that it was very easy to walk over to the hotel from the S5 with luggage. I had to book two rooms for my family of four, but the price was very, very affordable. Rooms were large and clean and the staff was very helpful and courteous. Although we didn't get to enjoy the bar, it was very cozy and well-apportioned. Really, the hotel exceeded my expectations. My only regret is that we only spent one night in Altenburg before moving on to Leipzig. I do plan on returning to Altenburg in the future and will definitely plan on staying at the Hotel Astor again.

Great location, in the center of Altenburg, this is an older hotel, but it's a good place to stay. The staff is friendly. The room was good, mine had a big bathroom. There's limited parking next to the hotel, but you can also park on the square in front of the hotel. This is paid parking, but prices are reasonable. The town is very nice, there are plenty of restaurants and a picturesque city center.
