We needed to stay overnight between flights and I was very nervous given the city's reputation. The hotel is by far your safest option for short term stays, it is 2-300 meters from the terminal, you can easily walk it if you don't have luggage, the hotel entrance is just by the security checkpoint, so all safe. We took the complimentary hotel shuttle, had someone waiting for us in the terminal. They have a dedicated entrance/exit in the airport parking so the transfer takes 2 minutes. Swimming pool was nice and you have a nice view of planes coming in to land. Room was clean and with all amenities you would expect.

Located right next to José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport, Hotel Garzota Inn features free -Buffet breakfast and a 24-hour front desk. This place was clean as can be. It's a little worn down in a few tiny spots, but the cleanliness more than makes up for that. The bed was comfortable, with nice sheets and lots of pillows. The shower was just fine, with soap and shampoo provided. You can tell the staff cares about doing a good job. Staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was fine, and dinner was quite good as well. It is very easy to walk with a big roller-bag just a few hundred yards up over a footbridge into the airport. I will most likely stay here again if I ever have a flight out of GYE.

Located in Guayaquil, Hotel Casa Del Rio Guayas has a garden, terrace, restaurant, and free WiFi throughout the property. Great first or last stop very close to the airport. Esperanza was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good with local dishes.

Just a 2-minute drive from Olmedo Airport, Hotel Air Suites offers practical rooms with air conditioning and cheerful décor. They're very helpful at the time I got the airport to the hotel.

Hotel Boutique The Royalty offers accommodations in Guayaquil, a 14-minute walk from Plaza del Sol and 3.2 miles from Santa Ana Hill Lighthouse. Nice, clean and comfortable room with a great shower. The staff were very friendly and helpful, including helping to organise a taxi to and from the airport. Recommended.
